"The location is not close to the train station, it takes about 13 minutes to walk, which is a bit difficult for the elderly. The room was clean and well-equipped, but it was not used WIFI (cannot connect to WIFI), and the experience was average."

"The only reasons I gave 4/5 stars for service was the self service hot beverage station and making your own toast. Order their specials better, however, this time my poached eggs were not soft. Excellent wine and excellent bar lunch which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus. I love this location. Walks through the wetlands and to Penarth and easy links to Barry Island. Spa brilliant and the quiet area next to the gym brilliant for reading"
"Close to the Cardiff Bay area and a very short bus to the main city and Cardiff Castle. Breakfast was excellent (but no muesli). Rooms spacious but no fridge (I think that the UK don't do fridges) we did enjoy our stay and would fully recommend staying here. Car park is next door at a multi carpark which is subsidised by the hotel @ 25 - 30%."
"Frokost is moderate, they could not supplement everything sometimes was something simple on! dirty scrambled eggs, made clearly from egg powder, no cooked eggs or baked eggs. Rooms and building smoothly. Heated rooms, fortunately there was a very dust ventilator. The staff were very friendly."
"The hotel is new, clean and spacious. The surrounding is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a laundry room with free self serve laundry. Breakfast is good. A very good value for money. And I would recommend other to stay in this hotel."
"The hotel was lovely and clean and the room was just what we needed after a long day of travelling. It would have been nicer if we had a bath
In the room but that is just personal preference. It was clean and tidy and we had tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
We were only a twenty minute walk from town a perfect distance to walk into town and walk back safely the route is well lit and pretty straight forward.
The breakfast was fantastic and it is served overlooking the bay so a lovely morning view.
The breakfast was buffet and we had multiple trips up and down to enjoy all the food. Our favourite was the pancake machine with the strawberry jam it was delicious."
"Clayton was okay as far as hotels go, it was nice having a view of Cardiff from a top floor, staff were friendly too.
The Gym was tiny for the size of the hotel, the bedroom was a standard double room, the reviews said that the Clayton had been newly refurbished, but felt that the room was dated. Due to windows not being able to be open due to H&S, there was no fresh air, just air con. The room was mostly clean, few stains on the carpet, and floor felt dusty.
The hotel location was great, near the train station and in town, but for the cost, I was expecting something much better, as the night before we had a much cheaper hotel, and rooms came with kitchens, and were very modern - wish I had stayed at that one for the extra few nights."
