We cut our stay short after one night and changed accommodation. The description and photos provided by the provider do not match the conditions on site. There is no usable outdoor pool. There was no restaurant either. The kitchen is very dirty. It took two hours to make breakfast and the cappuccino was hot water with milk, undrinkable. The pool by the room is more like a 2m bathtub surrounded by concrete walls in a very small space, you feel like you are in a cage in 30 degrees and high humidity without a breath of wind. As soon as you go out onto the street, it is very dusty and dirty and littered until you get to the other streets. The furnishings are very old and dated. The shower just drips without proper water, either there is no pressure or it is completely calcified. There were bugs and dirty marks in the bathroom. Forget about a villa, it is a dump. Even the staff's promise to contact us via WhatsApp after the cancellation to refund the costs has not yet been made. We were delighted that we had found a real villa with a private pool on the island at short notice. We strongly advise against booking this hotel, even for half the price.

The private pool villa is amazing! Very clean rooms and the staff are wonderful. The restaurant offers delicious food, and the location is nice and central given how small the island is. My only point of issue is that the villas are very close to a place of prayer that plays the 5x daily prayers on a loudspeaker. This would be totally fine except that the first prayer of the day is at 4am and it is very loud, so be prepared to be woken up early each morning if you stay here.

The villas are quite nice and it’s a decent place to stay for a couple of nights. Breakfast is pretty good, the dumplings are much better. There are no mosquito nets or repellents so be prepared to buy some, as they WILL get in (the bathroom is especially vulnerable as it is open-air. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The reception area is full of flies, so they need to invest in a fly trap. The mosque is very close by and it will wake you during the night, at least once or twice. Invest in earplugs and use their fountain outside to help drown out the noise (helps but isn’t sufficient to keep you from waking during prayer times). Location wise it’s fine. The island is very small so it’s easy to get around. They don’t offer bikes but walking everywhere is easy (but beware the horse and carts and children / toddlers on electric scooters). Overall it’s fine but if you’re there for more than a day or two I’d suggest looking elsewhere as there’s no option to chill at the hotel (no pool etc) and the Gili Air beaches are pretty bad.

We had the family room (2 bedroom) due to availability even though we were just 2 people. it was vastly better than the 1 bed that we’d saw next door as it had a huge outdoor area - for breakfast, lounging undercover if too hot in the sun or to avoid rain. The plunge pool and seating area was a great hideaway for relaxing and enjoying the sun. Location is perfect, a short walk from all bars and beaches. We walked from the boat ramp rather than using the poor horses. It was short enough to carry a bag and wheel a suitcase (roads are sealed). We did the boat trips around the different island and were glad we chose Gili A - had the right mix of beach bars and food without the nightclub feel to places on Gili T. And was easy to avoid any of that scene if you do want just a peaceful getaway. Breakfast was included with a fresh juice and main course, and was really good. Drinking water was topped up regularly. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Nice but no really what you expect
The staff was very friendly. The whole villa was ok but everything was a bit used. It's not exactly what you see on the pics. The breakfast options were very small, there were no fruit plates or a bowle, something like this. The hotel is located in the middle of the island, so you have to be prepared, that you hear the prayers in the middle of the night.

Loved our stay in Kerensia. A beautiful and immaculately clean villa, nice small pool, beautiful outside bathroom. A fridge, safe, drinking water, wifi, A/C, a ceiling fan, coffee/tea making facilities. The staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is served to the villas. The hotel's restaurant (Lockdown) serves excellent food. Bikes are free for villa guests and a great way to get around. Nothing is far by foot either. A total bliss.
