I booked a table for 2 , for Sunday lunch, and I explained I was in a wheel chair and could not walk. When we arrived we could not get into the hotel front entrance as there were steps, and were sent around to the side entrance.Once seated very near to the carvery distribution centre,a waitress came to take our drink order.I asked if there was any fish as a choice,no ,just 2 vegetarian options containing nuts.I am not a vegetarian nor am I a squirrel,I prefer fish.As there was a menu board on the wall advertising Sea Bass ,I was disappointed.I had a small meal on a blue plate as opposed to my husband who had a large meal on a white plate. The chef who was wearing a very dirty apron when cutting the meat, repeatedly told me I needed a blue plate, which I couldn't reach. As he was cutting the meat another person came through from the kitchen, scratching his rear end.Eventualy when we sat at the table, the food was cold and so unappetizing, cheap food sold expensively . We were regular customers up to a couple of years ago, but because of the attitude of the staff then who were very rude, as was the owner, we didn't return. We read on trip advisor some good reviews,so decided to try again. We will not return nor will we recommend.I applaud local people who want to support a local establishment and seem to enjoy the food.Cheap food, mostly frozen and cooked quickly. No thank you, when we go out for a meal ,we like well cooked food, clean areas, and staff that wear clean aprons and don't scratch their bottoms in front of customers. I worked for many years in the private catering industry,I wouldn't have lasted long if I had served food that bad.We didn't eat it,but paid the bill and left. The hotel need to cater more for disabled customers as to entry to the building, help from staff carrying food ,no one offered to help me.

What a wonderful welcome Had an amazing Sunday roast. Fabulous choice of meats . Generous helpings. Fantastic choice of vegetables. They had cabbage also, I was so thrilled as many places don't tend to have it as an option. The roast potatoes were proper traditional real cooked ones that were to die for. Cauliflower cheese#nom . Gravy and gravy boat as was too delicious.

Hotel is undergoing some much needed renovation work but this didn't hinder our enjoyment. We only stayed the one night. It was reasonable value and handily situated for the adjacent millemium cycle path. Would defintiely stay again. The hotel owner did us a massive favour, quite unprompted, for which we remain truly grateful.

Recently stayed here for a wedding. The room we stayed in is very dated, with wallpaper peeling off the walls and a ridiculously small tv. The room itself was very hot and didn’t have a fan. The bath suit is very old with a cracked bath panel, and mould around the shower head and tiles. The mattresses had a rip all along the side, exposing the springs. We paid for our breakfast on the first morning only to discover the bread was in fact mouldy. Needless to say we didn’t eat here again for the duration of our stay. I think the only positive I can say about this hotel is that the staff here are lovely, especially the lady with the dark hair that cleans the rooms.

It was nice to receive a warm welcome by the new Proprietors as we arrived at “The Ash” and we were well looked after by his Wife and young Daughter in the wonderfully positioned conservatory restaurant overlooking the golf course during our lunch. The hotel is now in the hands of this local family and today the Sunday Lunch was a credit, in all respects to any fine long established London hotel. I gather there are plans to further enhance the standard and facilities at the hotel and our Best Wishes go out to the family on there new venture in Pembrey. Da iawn.
