This is a beautiful motel. Inside it’s immaculate. So clean. Breakfast was omelet or breakfast burrito along with all the usual motel fair. Host was attentive and professional. Didn’t get a chance to walk around downtown but it is right there. Only complaint was sausage wasn’t as crispy as I like it. Laugh!

It is a very nice, totally refurbished facility. We stayed there before it was remodeled and became a Choice facility. It was okay, but old, dated, and tired. It's now very modern and bright. The bathroom was updated and functional. The flooring is ideal for a pet friendly facility. The beds were comfortable. They made sure to provide plenty of outlets for all the technology we travel with now. The breakfast area was also nicely redone, and the complimentary breakfast was as complete and varied as in properties that were more expensive.

WARNING! Long winded review ahead! TL:DR VERSION: Hotel is good but not great after remodel. Pros: Location, clean, good continental breakfast, balconies available. Cons: Remodel quality is subpar in areas, some maintenance items and smells still exist in common areas, no AC in workout area. FULL REVIEW: So the Clarion had a full remodel in the last year and is completely changed from the former brand. I think since they’re starting over with zero reviews that I should leave a nice in depth review to inform future stays and as good feedback for hotel management/owners. I’ll break our review up into a number of categories so you can skip to the parts that matter to you most: OUR STAY/INITIAL IMPRESSION, THE ROOM, AMENITITIES, LOCATION, CONCLUSION OUR STAY: We stayed here over the 4th of July holiday because we were making room for extended family at the cottage at the time. Our group was a family of 4 (parents and 2 children, age 3 and 5) and we stayed in one of the 2 double bed balcony rooms. Our initial impression was very good. The remodel looks very nice in the main lobby, the front desk person was very friendly. However, the remodel is far from perfect unfortunately… as you’ll see as a recurring theme, they may have gone a little cheap in some areas and certain obvious things were not addressed and thus kept this from being a higher review. One thing to note if you have mobility issues is to make sure you book and ADA accessible room. The building was built in stages so each section is at a different elevation (you go up a couple steps to get to different rooms on the same floor). This means if you didn’t book at ADA room, you may have to walk outside and back into the building to use a different elevator than the one near the lobby. This is also good to keep in mind if you have a lot of luggage to drag up to your room! THE ROOM: As stated, we had a 2 double bed balcony room. It was refreshed just like the rest of the hotel. The room itself was decently clean, had comfortable beds, and was very modern looking. The remodel job though was not the best. Almost every surface looks like it was at least painted, and the new fixtures and furnishings were all new, along with new laminate flooring (the hotel may be pet friendly, we saw several people with dogs there). However, the quality of the remodel left something to be desired. It looks like a homeowner did a DIY remodel on their own home and/or like it was a house quick flip. The quality of tilework for example was not very good, some fixtures still had the old items (maybe they’re still working to take care of a few punch list items?), several outlets and USB connections did not work and generally the quality was questionable. One issue though is that the room was a bit musty/humid. It look running the AC a while to get the air dehumidified enough. Mind you this is early July in northern Wisconsin and this is a room that has direct access to the outdoors via the b

Very accommodating staff and clean hotel and they offered a beverage upon arrival and morning breakfast- central location so one can walk to restaurants and nearby shops. Enjoyed it. Also ate at Rhinelander cafe so it was easy to walk to in five minutes- also recommended

The room was very clean. It was also very quiet and we did not experience noise from other guests. We had a room with a balcony and while the weather didn't cooperate for the full stay, we did get some use out of it! The dining area for the free breakfast was large with a number of different seating areas.

Amazing remodeling, very modern, available right in downtown. The hospitality is top shelf, and the building is kept very neat, clean. I highly recommend this stay. The parking lot is suitable for for large vehicles, and staff is very friendly. It accommodates a pool, hot tub, fitness center, and has a conference center for occasions.

The Claridge Inn is undergoing massive renovation. This facility should NOT be open during these renovations. While the rooms will be nicer when the work is done, the current conditions are deplorable. We were booked for three nights and left after one. There were filled garbage bags littering the halls, plaster dust, pieces of plaster, wallpaper strips on the floors, and garbage bags and trash in the parking lot. There was no power cord for the TV, and we were wakened at 7:30AM by hammering and a drill in what sounded like next door or the room above. When I went to the front desk to complain, no one was to be found - anywhere. What I did find was a notice there were no working fire alarms or sprinkler systems. No one mentioned this when we checked in. The notice stated "someone" would be walking the halls but if we smelled smoke or saw fire, call 911. It also told us to listen for a foghorn, whistle or other notice. The debris left in the hallways was enough to give us concern about a fire hazard. When we left, we used the elevator which had the wall stripped and the nasty carpet full of sheet rock dust and pieces. When we tried to get out the door on the first floor, it wouldn’t budge with both of us trying. We finally pulled as hard as we could and it finally popped open, clearly stuck. While they allowed us to check out two days early, they had no issue charging us the full rate for the one disastrous night, that was about 98% more than the experience was worth. I took pictures to show our family and they were shocked and horrified. Do yourself a favor and do not book a room here unless you verify ALL renovations are complete - and then think twice about it.

Room was clean and mini fridge was cold. Wish the heat had been set higher. Staff friendly and pleasant. Breakfast had juice and machine to make waffles. Yogurt would have been nice, with fruit in it.
