Grupotel Nilo & Spa

Excellent stay, comfortable location near the beach and cosy restaurants, small shops, markets and bars, bus stops but at the same time quiet and calm. Facilities such as restaurant, night bar and outdoor pool and spa available and not crowded. Elegant indoors and helpful staff. Very clean rooms, checked daily. Local food available at the restaurant as well as other European cuisine. Hotel that has its history in the region. Would love to come back there some time! Recommended!

We stayed at Nilo & Spa on August 16, 2025. Unfortunately, our room’s air conditioning was not working when we checked in. We reported the issue to the front desk, but it took multiple conversations with different staff members before it was finally addressed. Initially, the staff insisted the AC was working, which created unnecessary delays. When we returned late at night, the room was still not cooling properly. After further follow-up, the front desk eventually arranged for the HVAC to be fixed by the next morning, which solved the problem. The process, however, was stressful and inconvenient, and it felt like the staff were unwilling to acknowledge the problem at first. This made our stay far less comfortable than expected. Additionally, while the hotel does provide a weight machine, we found it very difficult to access it. Different staff members gave us conflicting answers, and we were not able to use it consistently during our stay. Overall, although the AC issue was eventually fixed, the lack of responsiveness and poor communication from the staff made the experience disappointing. Based on this, I would hesitate to recommend Nilo & Spa to others.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff, location, food, cleanliness and facilities are all first class!. Our favourite hotel and one we keep coming back to. Maty on reception is amazing, Felisa Victor, Ivo, Pací, Christian and the rest of the team are honestly amazing. Alex the manager always makes us so welcome and we can’t wait to return later this year.

Great location if you wish to visit Peguera as a short distance from main street and beach front (which is beautiful by the way). Rooms were an ok size the bathroom however was tiny and not easy to move around in. The beds were horrendously hard (as other reviewers have said) and the pillows weren't much better. Balcony was a good size. No kettle or cups in the room but you just have to ask reception. If you have hired a car there is only on street parking and that is metered but the hotel does have a secure car park that is chargeable if you wanted to park it off the street and pay a flat fee. The pool and sunbathing area is nice and set out on grass - but was soooo quiet - it felt like I was at a Library - nobody was talking, no music was playing and it lacked atmosphere - so if you want a lively pool scene this is not the hotel for you. My friend and I tended to go to the beach every day which had more atmosphere. Be aware to hire 2 sunbeds a parasol and lock box is 20.50 euro which can add a lot to your holiday if you use that every day. Some people took their own beds/chairs and parasols. One important thing to note about the pool is that my friend has blonde hair and she went in the pool on the first day and her hair got wet and then turned green. We did raise this with reception and noticed a lot more blonde women with varying levels of green tinged hair too. The hotel did offer a conditioning treatment to my friend once we had brought it to their attention, however, I would say they need to look at their chemical levels in the pool as a priority. The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to help you with anything that you may need (special mention to Mar). The buffet breakfast is just about ok with food that most people can eat but the same old fayre every day. But it does the job of giving you a breakfast to start the day. We only stayed B&B and I would probably not do more than that to be honest. For a quick 5 day break in the Sun it was a fine base, but I have stayed in far better hotels in Majorca and would look to stay elsewhere if I were to return to Peguera specifically.

Overall, my experience at this hotel was disappointing. While the hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, it felt more like a 2-star accommodation. The absence of basic amenities such as an iron and a kettle in the room was inconvenient. Additionally, the fact that guests need to pay for the safe is not something that aligns with the standard I would expect from a supposed 4-star hotel. The empty fridge in the room was also a letdown. Moreover, the lack of parking facilities further added to the inconvenience. However, I must highlight that the bar at the hotel was a redeeming feature. It offered a good selection of drinks, and the evening music entertainment was very enjoyable. Despite the shortcomings, the pleasant atmosphere created by the evening music at the bar somewhat made up for the other deficiencies.

The Nilo is a beautiful hotel and because of this, we keep going back. We have lost count of how many times we have been there, but some of the reasons we love it so much are - the amazingly peaceful location that is so close to the beach, the lovely rooms, the beautiful pool, the spa, the delicious food and the high level of cleanliness. The most special thing about The Nilo though is the hotel staff. They are amazing and genuinely cannot do enough for guests. They are friendly, courteous, super efficient and make every holiday there so special. They are an absolute credit to Grupotel and we must give a special mention to Maty and Xisco on reception, Felisa and Victor in the restaurant, and also say a big welcome to the new hotel Director Alex, it was lovely to meet him for this first time this year. We genuinely can't wait to go back again soon!
