WHAT I LIKED: Very big and comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and clean. Room service impeccable. Nice location attached to the train station, not too far away by walk from the city centre as well. So it is recommended for travellers. WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Walls too thin so you hear literally everything and I have been woken up in the middle of the night by other people who arrived in the room next to mine one. I didn't like also the fact that you were given a unique code to join the free Wifi, which last just 24 hours. So, every day, you have to go at the reception and ask for a new code.

From the positive side: - Hotel Excelsior is in the square of the main railway station, and it is in good position to visit the city. - My room was big, with a comfortable enough bed and a small balcony. - Breakfast was barely OK for the price I was charged (8.00 euros per day). Staff were friendly. From the negative side: - Insulation from noise in the room is almost non-existent: from outside I could hear passing trains day and night, and from rooms nearby people talking aloud. - The bathroom was small, with a very noisy fan, and with a shower that was far too small (less than one square meter) and without any place where I could put the soap. - Checkout was very early: at 10:30 am of the day of departure.

I recently came to stay at this hotel and had a really positive experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large with a comfortable bed and the location was excellent. For a 3 star, it was very good value and I would definitely return.

Dated hotel, friendly staff, noisy room with old fixtures through which noise came from the internal courtyard (engines all night) and cold! Insufficient heating to warm the room. Furnishings half crooked and old, taps in the bathroom half broken. Prices really too high for the complex. On the positive side, the location is close to the train station and public transport

I travel a lot for work, but I can assure you that I have NEVER found a worse hotel than this one. Nauseating smell, dirty rooms that seem to be furnished with second-hand furniture. Dirty curtains, not even a bottle of water in the fridge. Given the general situation, I refused to have breakfast (even though it was included in my reservation). At night I had an allergy attack, caused by the huge amount of dust. Last but not least: I found unwanted guests in my bed (insects)....
