+: Very pretty hotel, very large room with small outdoor table in a calm and relaxing setting. Large and comfortable bed, very clean. Brand new excellent spa. Beauty/hygiene accessories provided.
-: At reception, familiar language from the receptionist "wait, I'm calling Lolo!". Likewise, the receptionist's promise to remove the excess bed from our room was not kept. Forgot dressing gowns for the spa, no apologies from reception. Does not warn that the hammam is broken. No instructions on arrival on how to get around this large hotel or even empty the car, always having to go to reception to get basic information.

We checked in 7pm today room 5. We waited 15 mins in reception, no staff! We traveled over 1000km to get for our 40th wedding anniversary. requested a table for dinner. We were told the restaurant was full. We were told to go into town to find something to eat. How can a 5 * hotel not have enough space for its residents. We booked our room months ago. Appalling! The receptionist could not have cared less! The bedroom is large but the bed old and saggy. Honestly it is pretty rubbish. Decided to give breakfast a miss. They don’t deserve any more of our money. Staying in a chateau tomorrow night in northern France hoping for a better experience. I hope the manager actually reads this comment Our experience has been crap Really not 5 star!

A One Star motel at best. Absolutely disgusting corridors with flirty carpets and dirty, stained wall. Cheap rooms with painted, timber vanity tops with cheap fittings. A horrible experience and had we not just driven 600Kms we would have gone elsewhere and forfeited the money. The rooms shown on the website were not available and I wonder if they even existed. Avoid this hotel at all cost!!! I wish now had taken more photos but felt so sick about staying there I just wanted to go!

I found the hotel not up to the 5 star level . There was not even room service or a snack to be served to guests on a Sunday. I had to order from Uber eats not to starve as I was tired to go out and search a place to eat . It’s service more of an Ibis hotel than a french 5 stars … really deceiving!!

Stayed here before, always in the old building. This time we were in the adjacent newer building that was not specified, this room did not deserve the 5* rating, 3* at best if the spa was open. It was dirty and tired, very 90’s style. Air conditioning broken. Spa was shut which was a big reason to return with our young daughter.

ATTENTION AUX ALLERGIQUES !!!!!! Après plusieurs rdv avec la commerciale qui n'avait pas pris en compte ma demande sur le 1er devis nous mettons un autre menu adapté. Mais quelle n'a été notre surprise le jour J , Aucune information n'a été transmise en cuisine !!!! Inaceptable et TRES GRAVE !!!l Commerciale incompétante!!!! Pas digne d'un 5étoiles !!! De plus on nous a prévenu la veille pour le lendemain que la salle que nous avions louée n'était pas libre !!!! ( occupée j'ai ouie dire par la famille du directeur !!!!!) Incroyable ! Etablissement à Fuir absolument !!!

The property is outside Pau central and although the grounds are very grand, it’s all a bit tired. Found the staff friendly and the food pretty good but really not what I’d expect from a five star hotel. When we arrived it was extremely hot and a room with air conditioning was vital which we were pleased to have been allocated. The bedroom was adequate, clean and comfortable.

Wonderful grand hotel, located in a fashionable neighborhood. Spacious rooms, large garden with lawns and a swimming pool. My room had a balcony overlooking the gardens and out to the Pyranees. Ten minute drive to the Pau Golf Club. Avoid the restaurant. The food was terrible.
