Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel

I took my husband to Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel for his 50th. We were met with a glass of champagne and snacks while we waited by the fire for our luggage to be taken to our room. The room was breathtaking. The view of the ocean absolutely stunning. We dined at Leeto on the Friday night. The portions were bigger than we thought they would be and the flavors were bold and delicious. Excellent meal and good value for money. When we arrived back at our room, we were blown away by the amount of effort to tidy our room, pack items neatly out, rose petals on the bed, a bottle of champagne waiting and a beautiful card wishing my husband the best 50th. Breakfast was yet another incredible experience with stunning views of the ocean and the food catering for every palate. We had a couples massage on the Saturday morning at their spa. Both my husband and I say it was the best massage we have ever had. The weekend was truly unforgettable. My only regret is that we ate at Wolfgat the Saturday night instead of at Leeto again. The attention to detail and level of service was honestly "next level". We will certainly be referring all our friends and family to this gem on the West Coast. Thank you to all the staff for something truly special which we will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.

If you need rest and relaxation in a stunning location right on an unspoilt empty beach , then this is your place . A lovely hotel with friendly staff . Not too much to do in the area other than enjoy the views and take in the fresh air , but well worth the stay. The hotels restaurant is excellent and should not be missed . The only slightly negative thought is that the swimming pool is placed in a strange location overlooking the pathway to the reception, would have been so much better being located overlooking the sea !

It was like coming home to family. It was my first visit there and I felt so welcome. It is perfect. If it wasn't 13,000 kilometres away, I would love to spend more time there. If I were to visit South Africa again, it would be at the top of my travel plans. Thank you

We loved our stay so much this year we are planning next year already. Unspoilt quaint and peaceful Paternoster. A fabulous fishing village with wonderful fresh fish. Empty beach to stroll on and breath taking views. The Strandloper was one of the highlights of our trip. Great place with superb service. Can't wait to return. Almost too good to share!

So of I went to see what the hype was about the Strandloper botique hotel. Stunning. Very welcoming , helpful staff, beautiful setting , lazy days right on the beach or curled up in a pool bed with a book it was real bliss. I used the Spa and it was average massage nothing outstanding. Food was sublime with beautiful fresh Mussels and Crayfish on offer. Perhaps out of the price range for most South Africans and the Guest book reflects that as very far a few between. But if u want luxury and the best bed I have ever slept on. This is one for you

We simply cannot forget our wonderful time at the Strandloper Botique Hotel. From the time we started corresponding with Nerissa your excellent service was evident. No request was too big or too small. Arriving at the hotel we and our wedding guests were treated like royalty. Not one single guest left without feeling like family of the hotel. Thinking of it, besides the absolute wonderful location the key differentiator is the consistent and impeccable service received from all your staff. It is both a pleasure to be on the receiving side and also inspiring. We also want to recognise Simba and Thapiwe who always served with a smile during long hours. Your guys were fantastic! Paternoster has a number of very good restaurants and Strandlooper is one of them. We visited 5 during our impromptu sojourn on the West Coast and Strandlooper offered a very pleasurable location for our final evening before returning to reality! The restaurant is bijou with an absolutely stunning view. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy - yes happy. Smiley, efficient, polite ...Nice white tablecloths, nice glassware, nice cutlery The menu is limited, 4 starters, 4 mains, 2 deserts...I believe it changes daily and reflects the local produce and the seasons. The wine list is extensive featuring wines of The Cape and the West Coast. We both chose the Beef Fillet (there are only so many Crayfish one can eat in 4 days) and it was deliciously prepared with a pepper sauce and crisp baby veg and mash. For dessert I had the Roasted Banana & whiskey ice cream and my wife had the Lemon Cheesecake. I don't know what the cheesecake was like because Mrs L wolfed it down without giving me a taste. Having visited Reubens, Oep ve Keop & Noisy Oyster, I would put Strandlooper up there with the 'must visit' Paternoster dining venues...

If you’re deciding whether to stay here, let this review allay any doubt : the Strandloper Ocean Hotel will be everything you imagine for an ideal weekend in Paternoster. It's 5 Star accommodation hosted by warm and professional staff who are well trained, but more importantly, have sincere intent to ensure your stay is everything you hoped for. From arrival, you are given top service which doesn’t stop. The hotel is well run and well managed. The interiors are tasteful, pristine-clean and maintained. We were served champagne and snacks on arrival and enjoyed a lovely turn-down every evening. Details make this hotel extra special, such as: birdbook & binoculars, Rain products, yoga mats, electric blinds etc...). There's no doubt about the standard of luxury you’ve booked into. The restaurant serves excellent food and there is a lovely bar area. Let’s not get started about the natural beauty of the area, which is gloriously preserved. Thank you to Elviso, who hosted us with care, and to all the staff who made this weekend a memory for life for my husband and I. When you have 5 star luxury coupled with true warm hospitality, it’s unbeatable. That is what we got here and nothing would deter me from returning to The Strandloper. It’s certainly recommended.

We returned here after a 5 year break from South Africa . 5th visit to this lovely hotel right on the beach at Paternoster. The new Ocean King Suites are great. Breakfast excellent. Restaurant food good and only complaint is that they don’t change the menu or offer specials so after 3 nights it can get boring. Staff all lovely and friendly.
