Crystal ski have rooms within this hotel that are no more than cupboards , no windows , just a skylight , you can’t even tell what the weather is like unless you go down in the lift and exit the hotel , when i complained they had no solution , Zero , my options were to find my own expensed accommodation , fly home the next day at my expense or live in the cupboard for the next 6 days , I have my son with me or I’d fly home but he’d be heart broken , reading between the lines it would appear they book the very cheapest rooms in the nicer hotels and then leave you too it these days , I’ve been a customer for over 10yrs with over 15 great ski trip booked with them !! I’m cancelling the big family February trip as they’re no longer trustworthy . BEWARE OF CRYSTAL SKI NOT SUPPLYING A SIMILAR ROOM TO THE ROOM YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES.

This family-run hotel is perfectly situated, just a five-minute walk from the slopes and ski schools with lovely views of the mountains. I took my teenage son for his first ever ski trip and we had a great time at Hotel Orchidea. It’s spotlessly clean, with kind staff and plentiful, hearty food in the restaurant. We feasted on home-made pasta, tiramisu, ragu, stew, roasted fennel, tasty soups, perfect bruschetta, and more. It has a spa - hot tub, steam room and sauna - and a ski room where you can keep all your kit. I’m not a great skier but we had the best time, all arranged by Crystal Ski. Passo Tonale is a small resort town with LOTS of snow, due to its proximity to a glacier. If you head out of the hotel and walk for 15 minutes, you can go up in a gondola to see it. Expert and brave skiers can then ski all the way back down.

This was our 3rd stay at the Orchidea which was perfect as usual. Received a warm welcome from Andreas and Sonia on arrival. Hotel was spotlessy clean. Food was excellent with good choices for vegetarians, the chef would go above and beyond for those with special dietary requirements and offer extra choices to what was on the menu. All staff including cleaners and waiters were friendly and efficient. Packed lunch was welcome on last day as we had a very early start. Can't wait to return.

The owner, a man called Andrea, is extremely rude. When I approached him informing that the room temperature was very low, he suddenly became very aggressive. He came very close to me, literally invading my private space. Then he yelled that if I do not like his hotel I have to leave immediately!

There was a lovely charm to our stay in this family run hotel. Our son has a nut allergy and the Chef and staff were very helpful informing us which meals would be nut free on a daily basis. There was great choice for breakfast and for the evening buffet. Which does not give justice to the quality and care the chef took with the meals. The wellness centre was small but had a sauna, steam room and hot tub. It was tastefully decorated and clean. I would recommend to bring a robe and towels can be hired there. Family time, with the kids were between 4 and 5. There was no nudity. The rooms were cosy and very clean with a great shower. There is a TV with plenty of Italian channels but no English. However, this reflects the mix of different nationalities who frequent this great hotel. The Hotel is situated 5 minutes away from the slopes. The ski room is heated and of a good size, however if you would like to store your equipment nearer to the slopes it possible to hire lockers there at the sports shop. Finally, I am not one to gush about a place, but Sonia and the staff were caring and run a fabulous establishment.

We’ve been to this hotel on three separate occasions now and this will definitely be the last. The owner is just plain rude. When we arrived, I accidentally let my skis fall on one of her cheap glass vases that was at the side of our bedroom door. Of course it smashed the vase but I didn’t expect the owner to ask me for 50€ to replace a cheap vase that wasn’t worth more than £5. When we challenged her, she then asked for 30€! So she was just making it up as she went along. On another occasion, we were playing cards quietly in the bar and exactly at 11pm. She rudely asked us to go to bed as she wanted to lock up. Her customer service skills are very poor and we will never come again nor recommend anyone to this hotel as there are far better in Passo de Tonale.

We spent a few very nice days at the hotel. The room was big and everything was perfectly clean. We felt very comfortable here and everyone was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner were very good. A beautiful view of the surrounding mountains is a matter of course. The very nice wellness was just a pleasant bonus. The owner of the hotel was very helpful when we had to deal with an unpleasant family situation. We can only warmly recommend a stay at this hotel to everyone.
