My stay at rema was just another level, aesthetic rooms, vibrant interiors and wonderful hosts. I have to say that the best part of my stay was the town view from my room, i could here the flowing river water and that made everything so calming. The staff over there was so friendly and helping. This is where i will stay if i happen to visit bhutan again.

We were deeply disappointed by the behavior of the resort manager towards Indian guests. While the hotel staff were friendly and the rooms clean and spacious, the bathroom had a persistent foul odor. The most troubling aspect was the restaurant service. The manager seemed solely focused on greeting European and American guests, ignoring us entirely. On our first day, when I attempted to communicate with the staff, they overlooked my questions in favor of serving foreign guests. We were informed that the buffet menu primarily catered to foreigners, with a separate Indian menu featuring only basic dishes like dal, chapati, rice, and aloo matar. While we appreciated the option, the discriminatory treatment was unacceptable. When my husband requested a different dish for the next day, we were met with disappointment. The buffet remained the same, and we were told there was no alternative for Indian guests. It felt unjust to be offered the same limited options day after day while paying the same rate as everyone else. Furthermore, the manager insisted that we would need to pay extra for paneer, stating we couldn’t enjoy both the buffet and the Indian dishes. This behavior was not just disappointing but outright disrespectful. We felt treated like freeloaders, which is unacceptable. We urge fellow Indian travelers to consider other options. While the rooms and views are appealing, the discriminatory treatment we experienced at the restaurant overshadowed any positives. This is not a place for self-respecting Indian guests.

Indians stay away!!! The resort where Indians are treated like freeloaders. The hotel staff are generally polite and respectful towards everyone except for the manager. The rooms are clean & spacious, the views from room are great, but the food is mediocre. The resort mainly has items in their menu which caters to European customers. Indians will not find much to choose from. They are however generous enough to have a seperate menu for Indians which they serve at the table. The menu includes rice/chapati, dal and alu matar. So it seems for others there are 7-8 different varieties of menu items, but for Indians there are just 3 fixed items everyday. Who pays so much and expects food like this. We had been to hotels/resorts in Thimpu and Punakha and there everyone was treated the same and their menu catered to all audiences. On top of that, on the 1st day, the manager/owner told us that we can have buffet items along with Indian items, but the 2nd day he said if we have buffet items, then we can't have the Indian food. However the waitresses kept saying we can have both Indian food and buffet items. It seemed as if we Indians will get food depending on the whims and fancies of the manager/owner, who was clearly busy pleasing the customers from other continents and had no time for us Indians. We felt as if we are unwanted here even when we paid the same resort fees as anyone else. I would never come back to this resort and recommend all self respecting Indians to avoid it.

The Rema Resort was excellent, the rooms were goodand clean, the food was good/excellent and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and most had really good english. Paro is a quiet restful place and such a nice change from most of Asia Highly recommended.

Quite spread out resort close to town.Since it is on a hill one gets spectacular view of town below. Cottages are better to stay. Sit in the verandah with a drink seeing mountains around an river flowing below is magical. Food was good but choice limited. Beware of chilies. Tschering Phuntsno, owner was considerate. Suk Bdr and Sunita Rani helpful at reception.

Lovely Resort for 4 star. High up on a hill so great views of Paro, the river, etc. Landscaping was interesting with kitchen garden/topiary areas. Our room was an OK size but no separate sitting area within the room. There was a bar which had a good vibe and drinks were inexpensive. The restaurant fine but nothing special. It was also difficult to access with a very steep, narrow set of stairs. I believe in high season the Rema offers an additional restaurant option. Breakfast was not well catered for for us (as Australians) and dinner selection was quite modest (we ate local food and love it but choice was limited). The restaurant did have a great view which was nice to see over breakfast.

Location - excellent food - average. The food needs variety and taste. Service- varies. Poor- any minor change from the menu served, they levy extra charge. Good- room service is prompt. Hygiene - the towels are not very fresh and bathroom does not smell very fresh, maybe due to poor ventilation in the bathroom. Amenities: the resort needs to keep a luggage weighing scale for international travellers. The property has been an orchard and farm house. Morning walks are good within the resort.

Indian food was really bad and slightly expensive. The staff is not cooperative. They hardly listen to what you say. You ask for something, they pack something else. We requested them to pack a couple of breads for us coz we had to leave early, but we ended up not leaving early. We told them we’ll join the buffet, but they said you’ll have to pay even though my room was inclusive of the breakfast. So not a great experience food wise overall.
