The room was beautiful with a remarkable view towards the tiger nest trail. If you want to have a quiet retreat to relax, then this is the place to stay! The personnel is very welcoming and even the hotel director Missie greets you personally. Also on the day you leave. The hotel management offered a free snack bag for the hiking trail, which we appreciated a lot. There was an incident at the hotel were the food was served cold. After our complaint, the management reacted immediately. Not only did Missie apologize personally, she made us a gift and offered my wife the hand crafted mugs she liked so much. The breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and impeccable. Overall we have to say that it was the best hotel we experienced in Bhutan so far. Not only do you feel very welcomed, but you see the culture of its country reflected in the hotel management and its team work: food fresh and organic, personnel welcoming and caring, a very inclusive work environment and demonstrating a lot of generosity. The surroundings of the hotel with the beautiful park make you relax and want to stay longer. The room itself fulfilled everything by being a boutique hotel: beautiful wooded furniture, a bathroom with everything you need and a nice spacious balcony. We are very happy to have supported such an institution and are happy to come back soon!

Beautiful and peaceful hotel with a view of Tiger's Nest. The owners are incredibly kind. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel design is splendid, yet homey. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again. Note that the hotel is situated quite far from town and requires a car or taxi services.

I have wanted to travel to Bhutan for many years. It is not always easy to choose a hotel from another country. I usually stay away from hotels with catchy names but I have to say this one lived up to its name. It was a beautiful oasis in this small town. The architecture was truly stunning. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by the owner, and I appreciated the hot tea she offered to greet me. She even made sure that my room was warm before I got there because it was a cold day when I arrived. The hot stone bath was very relaxing, and the herbs that they put in the water are very fragrant and comforting. The lighting at night in the area where the hot stone baths are was delightful and being in the hot water under a star filled sky was magical. I had the choice of having breakfast in the restaurant or brought to my room. I chose to have breakfast in my room each morning so I could look out at the beautiful view of the mountains and the rest of the property. Some of the rooms even have a view of Tiger’s Nest itself! I really appreciated the little touch of flowers at each breakfast service, and breakfast was always delicious. I also had dinner there on two occasions and both times the food was very good and I’m glad that I was able to order dinner during my stay. I also asked the owner if they knew of a traditional healer and they were so kind to put me in touch with a friend of theirs, he came to the hotel, and I felt very honored to be able to experience his consultation. He answered all my questions and provided immediate treatment. He also chanted for me and my well-being, It touched me deeply and it is something I will never forget. I especially liked being close to Tiger’s Nest as it made a really nice ending to a long day. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat, and I look forward to staying in their other property in Bhutan as well. I would recommend them to any of my friends, and I will treasure the memories of these thoughtful and caring hosts during this special trip.

Had booked a different hotel in Thimpu but so glad a friend found out about Taktsangri-la and we changed the bookings last moment. This is nice, expansive and premium property however, the USP of the property are the people who own and run this. We traveled with a young kid and a senior citizen and were apprehensive about our stay in a hitherto unexplored country for us as a family. The warm welcome and the incredible hospitality made us feel completely at home. The food was delicious {Zhimbay – my daughter’s second most used Dzongkha (Bhutan’s language) word during the stay}. The Breakfast there doesn’t have a time restriction which is nothing less than a boon for any leisure trip esp. for people who relish their morning sleep most. Dinners are always custom made to everyone’s taste and served hot in a cozy dining area (we never opted for the in-room service!). The resort’s open air hot stone bath in a tub under the starlit sky is a must do once esp. on days’ one returns from hikes (like Tiger’s Nest). We were guided well about places to visit, things to take care of and most helpful was their availability to talk in local language if we called from anywhere while visiting other places. A huge shout out and heartfelt thanks to Kinzang and Karma who not only took care of our food, coffee etc. but also got very close to my daughter, Chencho (initially just another driver the resort provided for pick up & drop at extra charges) who along with her husband became our local guide and even invited us to a local archery and dance event, Dechen – the resort manager extraordinaire who can have myriad conversations and Sonam who with his wonderful ideas keeps this place interesting and special. In an expensive country for any traveler (considering Bhutan’s policy of High Value, Low Volume with focus on environment and sustainability), this resort is a super-premium experience at a very reasonable price. Also, it is probably the closest resort to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery!! Kadrin Chey La (my daughter’s most used word) everyone at Taktsangri-la!!

I stayed at Taktshangrila for 3 nights and had a mixed experience Pros - beautifully decorated property. It has been recently renovated so most of the fixtures are new. The hotel also has a very warm manager (Ms Dechen) who ensured that her guests are well taken care of, she and her team serves very yummy food. The property is very close to Tiger’s Nest Cons - rooms need to be better equipped. The rooms were huge but only one heater was given per room making them rather cold in december winter, no bathrobs or slippers were provided. The hotel lacks a proper reception so you have to communicate with the manager via WhatsApp. The hotel is far from city (atleast 20-25 min) .

My stay here was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were spotless and incredibly comfortable, providing a perfect place to unwind. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. The food was fantastic. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short stroll to the iconic all the local attractions. Despite being so close to everything, the quiet setting offered a peaceful retreat from the lively energy. Highly recommended for an exceptional experience!
