Silver Cloud Hotel

Nice place, very friendly staff. Simple hotel with a pleasant peaceful area. If you want to get outside the hotel there is basically nothing and you're not too close to any town area, that's the only downside. You need a taxi to all towns, treks and the airport

After a long and tiring journey from Phobjikha to Paro via Haa, we checked into the Silver Cloud Hotel around 6:45 PM. The check-in process was smooth, and we were promptly assigned our rooms. The accommodations were comfortable, well-sized, and equipped with all necessary amenities—a positive start to our stay. However, our experience took a disappointing turn during dinner. Before settling into our rooms, we specifically informed the receptionist (who was assisting us) about our dietary preference for less spicy food. Unfortunately, when the meal arrived, every dish was excessively spicy, filled with chilies, making it nearly inedible. Even the rice was undercooked and unpleasantly raw. Another guest seated nearby with her baby also complained about the same issue. We called for the head chef, Tejun (name correction appreciated), to address our concern, hoping for a resolution for improvement. To our surprise, instead of apologizing or offering a courtesy remedy, he bluntly stated that he follows the manager’s instructions and had received no special requests for our table. He showed no willingness to accommodate our request or even extend a basic courtesy apology before walking away abruptly. Having dined at various establishments, including those with Michelin-starred chefs, we know that true hospitality involves going the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction. Sadly, Chef Tej’s attitude was unprofessional and ego-driven, leaving us deeply disappointed. We then spoke to the manager, clarifying that we had indeed communicated our dietary restrictions to the receptionist and that the kitchen’s oversight was not our fault. Left with no other option, we had to leave our meals mostly untouched. For our first night at the hotel, this experience was far from welcoming. The lack of warmth and hospitality, especially from the kitchen staff, significantly marred our impression. We hope the management takes feedback seriously to prevent such incidents for future guests.

From the moment I checked in till the end of my stay the staff of this beautiful hotel went above and beyond to make sure I had an excellent stay. I loved my room, I loved hanging out at the lobby and the bar. The manager and the help desk were always there making sure I had what I needed and answered all my questions and requests with an exceptional customer service. Thank you so very much Silver Cloud! I am definitely coming back to this place and I recommend this hotel to all!

Service was fantastic and they went out of their way to change their meal plans to adhere to our request. They set up a massage on sort notice and we’re all incredibly friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting. Rinchen the manager was fantastic.

We came from Peru as part of a small tour and spent two nights here, the service was excellent, they helped with the bags, and stayed just as helpful all the way through, very friendly and polite staff. Food was amazing. Our room was larger than we expected. We had a nice stay.
