The home boasts a large manicured lawn with a kids' playhouse and basketball court, all safely contained by high fences to keep children safe from resident wildlife such as elk, deer, and big horn sheep. The wrap-around wood deck and shaded cement patio overlook the Cinnabar Canyon mountains and are well equipped with ample and comfortable outdoor seating for dining and lounging. We do not have AC but there are fans in every bedroom and ceiling fans in the great room. To keep the house cool, open the windows at night and shut them first thing in the morning. Although it’s a rural neighborhood, there is plenty to do. The former owners of Canyon House live nearby and have a fully operational outfitting business (Wilderness Connection) that offers horseback rides, white-water rafting, and zip lining. Historic Gardiner, the only year-round entrance to Yellowstone Park, is a short 20 minutes away. A step back in time to the Old West, Gardiner’s main street has restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, gas stations, a grocery store and a small pharmacy. The Yellowstone River is 4 miles away and is the longest undammed river in the continental US with fantastic trout fishing and white-water rafting. You must purchase a fishing license to fish there. It's easy to fish from the banks, only minutes from the house, or hire a guide to take 1-2 anglers via drift boat. Guides provide shuttles, all fly-fishing gear including rods, reels, and flies, as well as lunch and instruction. A perfect experience for novice or expert fishing folks. The river also offers exciting white-water rafting for the thrill-seekers in your crowd (or tubing for the mellower ones). Yellowstone National Park, about 20 minutes away, features world-famous geysers, abundant wildlife, and landscapes of stunning beauty. You can explore on your own or take advantage of superb wildlife tours. Other nearby attractions include the newly built Yellowstone Hot Springs, just 4miles away on the Yellowstone River before at the intersection of Corwin Road and highway 89. The wonderful Chico Hot Springs is a short 20 minute drive north. There are three yearly rodeos during the summer. The first is in June in Gardiner, the second is over the 4th of July in Livingston and the final is the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) which takes place late July or early August. We absolutely loved our time at Canyon House. The scenery right outside the doors was breathtaking, and the home was fully stocked with everything for our family - dishes, cups, kitchen appliances, shampoo, conditioner, towels, sheets/blankets for ALL the beds, and so much more! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, as well as playing basketball and using the swingset. It also made a great base camp for our Yellowstone adventures. We would definitely recommend this place for any family looking for a spot to stay in the Yellowstone area!

Hope to be back soon One of the best short term rentals we have ever stayed at. It had everything we needed and more. Extremely well stocked kitchen/pantry and plenty to keep us busy with equipment for every sport, games, DVDs and books. We appreciated the bear spray, sunscreen, and bug spray as well as generous towels and bedding. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying meals on the deck and soaking in the views. We stayed with our four kids ages 12-17 and there was plenty of space to spread out. It’s a short 20 minute drive to Gardiner. Hope to be back soon!
