SO/ Paris Hotel

Paris|2.8km from Square des Peupliers
I booked my wife to stay at this hotel recently and she loved it. I needed to be in Paris, and decided to try it myself. It is now the place I will always try to stay in Paris. The great thing about this hotel is that it is a perfect trade-off of price/location. In September, we stayed at the Faubourg Sofitel (also Accor) which is about as 'Prime Paris' as you can get. Right next door to the Elysee. For that, you got a hotel which was about 50% more expensive, for 40% less product. SO/ is central, but a bit on the edge, and for me that is worth every cent of the tradeoff. Additionally, the tradeoff places you right next to the river with views of Paris that are sensational. And anyway you are 5 mins on foot to the Places des Voges - this is still beautiful Paris. Other big pluses: - food quality is really high in Bonnie. We went for dinner and breakfast. Both great. Dinner buzzy, and possible the most beautiful breakfast room views imaginable. In summer.... wow. - rooms are extremely high quality fit out. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Just be aware that there is now bath or desk even if a room which could accomodate it - staff are charming and very well trained. - access by car is easy. Very few people will be driving (but I was). Access is super simple, and the valet parking v reasonable (about Eur40) - I didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked amazing by Paris hotel standards - I loved the design concept of the hotel. It is young and modern without being like a W (which I don't like... trying too hard) I strongly recommend. Thank you SO/ Paris.

I have stayed at this apartment hotel several times. This time, we were assigned to the 8th floor by the hotel. The room felt very large. It is estimated that the overall area could exceed 26 square meters. Of course, the room facilities are also very good, and simple meals can be prepared. There is a Carrefour supermarket in the commercial center downstairs with sufficient goods. There is a farmer's market nearby on weekends, Tuesdays and Thursdays, making life convenient. Take a stroll along Avenue Gobelin into the center of Paris.

The room is small, a large bed, basically can not open the open suitcase, smaller than the domestic hotel.

Really good hotel with super friendly staff. Nice breakfast area to also unwind in. Location isn’t bad at all especially if you don’t mind public transportation. Bud is about a 2 minute walk and metro about 10 minutes. 24 hour mini mart just around the corner too. Safe area as well. I’d definitely book again.

There is absolutely nothing to find fault with in this hotel. I had back bacon most mornings for a toasted sandwich which was lovely. Ate in the restaurant and the Italian and both are excellent with a good choice of food. Location is peaceful and quiet and a taxi to go out and about is good value. All and I do mean all the staff are so kind, helpful and appreciate you staying in their hotel right from the gardeners up to management. They rake the beach every morning so it’s pristine just the like the gardens. We used the glass bottom boat and partner went snorkelling several times of a boat both are free. We used Chris (Papas Dream Comoany)who walks along the beach during the day and booked a fu e island tour which was fantastic. We had the lovely Kenny taking us in a speed boat and he was fun , knowledgeable and managed to show us turtles, dolphins, star fish and obviously the monkeys. If you want to contact anyone before you go with questions Vikesh Ramprosand is superb. I would like to thank everyone for such an enjoyable stay especially, Reema, Teward, Davison, Akash in the restaurant. Kevin, Nicki and Salvern serving drinks on the beach. Kevin abd Akash in the Italian. These are names I remember so please forgive me if I haven’t mentioned you. Would I return - most definitely time and time again.
Hotel Verlaine

My adult daughter and I stayed in two rooms at the Hotel Verlaine for only one night in July, at the very beginning of a two-week road trip through France. But even before our arrival, Mme Elodie had already recommended (by email) the Europcar agency at the nearby Place d'Italie, and our experience there was flawless. Our rooms were not large, of course, but they were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The plumbing and wifi caused me no problems. The breakfast was quite good, with fresh bread and croissants, and Elodie was there to serve the coffee and point out what was available in the buffet. She said the Verlaine was a hotel ”comme à l'ancienne”--in other words, like in the good old days--and it certainly is. There is no air-conditioning and no elevator. I understand that these are necessary for some people. But if you want a small hotel like they just don't make them anymore, charming and friendly and full of its own character, and located in a real Parisian quarter where residents go out at night right where they live, then you can't pick a better hotel than the Hotel Verlaine.
