Hotel Lutetia, Paris

Paris
We had the complete pleasure of staying at this mind boggingly AMAZING hotel over spring break this year, four nights in total. We are a family of four (17 yr old son 14 yr old daughter), and all of us were completely blown away by the level of attention, committment to excellence, beauty of the facilities and location of this incredible place. It truly is the finest hotel we've ever stayed at, with good reason. From the moment we were met at the airport (transport arranged by the hotel) in a comfortable van equipped with every phone charger you could imagine, water bottles and towels for our faces and hands, to the minute we reluctantly checked out and said our good byes, our family felt known, cared for, and completely, 100% spoiled in a ways we could not have dreamed. Everyone from the concierges and guest services team (shout out to the enthusiastic and emminently cheerful Claire!) to the housekeeping and food people who dropped treats and little touches to make us so excited to come back to the room each day...to the waiters at the Brasserie and Bar Josephine (the best cosmo I've ever had, two nights in a row and fantastic live music) we are already dreaming of returning. Many hotels are having a difficult time finding enough staff, let alone people committed to going above and beyond providing excellent service...this hotel somehow has a lock on great individuals in every department. Other highlights: bathrooms cut out of solid marble. I took five minutes one morning trying imagine what it took to fabricate the sinks and bathtub out of solid stone and then get them into all the rooms. Mind blown. Fantastic water pressure from both the shower and bath. Sheets and pillows and beds that allowed all of us to sleep soundly every night. Both children said it was the best night's sleep they'd ever had away from home. Top of the line electronics and room organization...everything is automatic with lights (we didn't touch a switch in four days, I came home and told my husband what a ”drag” it was to have to actually turn my lights on. lol), and air conditioning/heat/curtains are all controlled from handy control wall panels in each room. Small touches in the closets of things you might have forgotten, lots of drawers and space to unpack and stay organized. The pool and spa is breathtaking, make sure to leave time to enjoy it! It truly is a five star hotel in every element imaginable. I cannot recommend Hotel Lutetia any higher. You will not regret it.

I don't like the environment and layout of this hotel. There is no table in the room except the coffee table, and there is no place to put luggage. The toilet is separated, and the toilet is next to the door. It is a sliding door but there is a seam. The curtain of the bath can be separated from the bed, and it cannot be completely private. If someone walks from the bed to the door to go to the toilet, you can see you taking a shower. There is no place to put clothes in the bath, so I moved a small stool on the bedside to put it. The window door can be opened and stretched out, but not the balcony. The air conditioner in the room didn't know how to do it. It was very cold when it was turned on, and it couldn't be lowered. It happened that it rained a bit cold that night, and it was quite stuffy if it was not turned on. Breakfast is very general, there is a clerk service is very friendly but I don't understand English. There are not many choices to eat, basically there are croissants Danish bread and some yogurt. It is better to go out and eat. That's probably the price in central Paris, and I don't want to live anymore. But not far from the subway, there are also Lefu supermarkets and some fruit breakfast restaurants nearby, I heard that it is a residential area. Not far from the neighborhood, there is a Vietnamese powder that is open very late. Although the store is small, the service brother will speak Chinese, English and French. You can dine in or take out. If you come to live, you can try it.

Nice Hotel in a good location in Paris 14ième, not far from Gare de Montpparnasse and Metro Pernety. My room was a little strange as it had a split level with a steep internal stair between entrance/bathroom and the bed. It was oriented to the street and despite the raised floor of the bedroom it was kind of ground floor to the street. People walking by could look into the room quite easily. Such rooms are definitely not suitable for handicapped people. Service was good and the breakfast outstanding. Check-in procedure wasn't as quick as it is normally for Hilton Honors guests. They seem to have issues with their IT sometimes.

Due to my job, I often travel to different countries. This hotel was beyond my expectations. After reading various reviews I took the wrong decision to book a room here for a week. First of all, the beds are really tiny. They can't accommodate 2 person without pushing each other and trying not to fall off. But I understand, it is a hotel in Paris, did not expected bigger rooms. On the other hand, we could hear the guest on the next room talking, their TV, their water running while taking a shower and even in the morning their phone alarm going off! Moreover, the room lighting is very poor. Just one weak lamp provided on the desk and two weak lights provided on the wall. One was not working by the time we arrived, but they fixed it the other day after mentioning it. However it was not enough and couldn't work or do online meetings. Lastly, I asked at the reception for an iron. The answer was” sorry they took them”. When back to my room, waited for over 30 minutes, went down to see if they became available but still nothing. When I told him that is it unacceptable for a ”3 stars” hotel to have just 2 irons (as he told me prior) he laughter into my face. That's not a proper costumer service any client would like to encounter. If you are still thinking of booking at this hotel, then I wish you good luck!

This is excellently placed for getting around Paris. Near the metro, main station and central to walk to. English speaking staff, catered to us well. Clean room, as always in Paris they’re a bit smaller, but it’s a fair price. Would stay again.
