This hostel is LOUD on the inside...and I mean LOUD. You cannot close the door quietly: this means that all night long, you can hear people opening and closing the doors. The wood floors give the area an acoustic strength that would be amazing for a concert venue. unfortunately, it's a hotel....not a rock show. Moreover, it's a haul going up and down the steps. Don't book the hotel if you have some kind of foot injury, because you'll regret it. The staff...most of them don't seem to care at all about the place. This might reflect the management? Who knows...the majority are apathetic at best. Even if you're in an emergency situation, think twice...

2024/Sept I recently stayed at this hostel and it was one of the worst I've ever encountered - if not the worst. See all the comments on Google/trip advisor and draw your own conclusions. Here are the negatives and positives: - Negative points: . Internet with a weak signal, which gets worse when you are in the kitchen or in the rooms on the second floor. I needed to use the internet on my cell phone on several occasions . There is no elevator and the spiral staircase can be dangerous if you have mobility problems or for the elderly . Old structure (needs to be renovated as soon as possible) . Unlike most hostels in big tourist cities, they charge for every thing that is given for free in other hostels: to rent towels they charge the rent + a deposit amount and even if you return the towels in good condition as expected, if you do not present a tiny receipt paper that you hand in at the entrance, the deposit amount is not refunded. . Unlike most hostels, there are no bathroom options inside the dorms, just a shower. . Room keys stop working whenever they are near electronic devices (I had to "reset" my room access card twice in three days... never seen this in any other hostel). So if you leave your room at night to go to the bathroom, sometimes you can't open the door when you return) . Unlike most hostels, there are no sockets near all the beds (if you are on the bottom bunk, for example, you will have to charge your devices away from the bed) . The alarm went off at around 4:45 am and all guests had to go downstairs and wait at reception until confirmation that everyhting was ok. I imagine it must happen often . Rooms with very cramped showers and no cloths on the floor, leaving everything always very wet . Unlike other hostels that have a cleaning team to do this after checkouts, they want you to hand over the sheets at checkout. This is usually the hotel's obligation and no one asks for this: you have to go down the cramped stairs (because there is no elevator) with suitcases and still carrying sheets to catch early flights/trains - Positive points: .It is well located in a relatively safe area of Paris (with a 30-minute walk you can reach the Trocadero/Eiffel Tower, for example). . There are many useful shops nearby: franprix (a market 100 meters away), a laundry 50 meters away and numerous restaurants around (pizza hut, typical french boulangeries etc) . The public bathrooms appear to be regularly cleaned. To sum up: there are countless other more modern options in Paris with fair prices, further away than this hotel from the most central arrondissements, such as Generator and Le Village (which I recommend). This can be worked around, as the Paris metro system is very strong and you can find a station on every corner. The only thing that makes this hostel stand is the location, and even then it's not worth staying there.

I’ll star with what is good: - Price - Location - Shared bathrooms appear to be regularly cleaned The negative: - You pay in cash; this is likely so you can’t dispute the charge with your credit card or hostel world after you figure out the place is trash. There is no refunds. - Dirty towels with blood stains that you rent - Linen with hair on it - Crappy wifi - Free breakfast which consists of baguette, cereal, and coffee out of a dirty basement kitchen - Paper thin walls with rowdy neighbours - No air conditioning in the building - Shower is a room about 2 mete by 1 metre that you have to constantly press for water. This is the last time I try to save some money while travelling. I was not expecting hotel accommodations but I have stayed in other hostels and have had great experiences. Steer clear of this place.

I can only confirm what the others wrote in their bad reviews. I stayed here for a week with 19 other people on a study trip. The location is OK, but that's about it! We found the following problems: - The sink drains smelled rotten - Windows didn't close properly, so it was drafty at night and a few people caught colds. - There was mold everywhere in the shower. - Toilets were dirty - The same goes for the rooms - The fire alarm in the room had been removed - The beds were so rickety that the person lying on the bottom didn't like it when the person on top moved. - There were no proper bed covers and the one cloth that you were supposed to wrap around the duvet probably had "blood stains" in 50% of cases. - View of pipes that even have plants growing out of them. - When people went to the toilet next door, you could hear the toilet filling up. With all that noise, it was very difficult to sleep. (Walls made of paper) - Breakfast was not convincing either, leathery baguette, jam that tasted like sugar water and second-rate croissants. (But it was free) Overall, this hostel was a huge disappointment... It can turn holidays into horror trips! Better to spend €5 more and look forward to a well-earned bed in the evening.
