Walled Off Hotel Paris

We stayed here twice in October, on our train travels round France. The first time they messed up our booking and gave our "superior" room to someone else(!), leaving us with a smaller "standard" room. They offered us free entry to the Banksy museum as an apology but we didn't have time to do it, so a bit of a disappointment there. The bathroom also had a bad smell that first time. BUT the beds were comfortable, the Banksy theme was fun, the prices weren't too bad, the location was really handy for Gare du Nord, the staff were friendly and the ethos of the place seemed good. Our second visit was much better - they hadn't given our room away this time(!) and the bad bathroom smell was gone. Also, we had been a bit freaked out by the massive media hype about bedbugs in Paris, so were relieved to find this place was completely bedbug-free :) Which is probably true for most Paris hotels (the whole thing seems to be exaggerated really) but was still very much appreciated by us on this occasion...!

Strange hotel, definite 'youth hostel' vibe in our dusty small room with a door to the bathroom that would not close. Worst part was this is part hotel / part 'Banksy' museum with exhibits in other bedrooms on the same floor as guest rooms. There are random people walking the guest floors, regularly trying to open doors to see if it's part of the exhibition or not! No good for safety or privacy. Very, very basic with minimal amenities in the room. No safe in room or reception didn't helpt with the public accessibility issue above. Positive aspects it was quiet (facing away from street) when not museum visiting hours, area around good for food and walking distance to Monmatre and central Paris. Buyers remorse - was similar price to more conventional hotels we wish we had picked.

My wife enjoyed her stay at the Walled Off Hotel. She found the staff very helpful, the room very clean and in a very convenient location.

Would recommend this hotel. Good value for the money. Location is great being close to night life and transportation. The shared shower and bathroom was clean, as was the room itself. For a solo female traveller the area felt safe enough to walk around in.

I chose this hotel for the reviews on location and cleanliness. Room was very clean and had shower and sink so shared toilet not a problem. The location is great for 1. Travelers staying just overnight, as close to airport transit and metro to popular sites. 2. Travelers who like night life. People are in the streets yelling and singing literally all night long~~very noisey. This may be due to the adjacent basement bar that seems to be open all night. For travelers looking for a more refined/calm experience, you probably want to stay in the Latin area, nearer the university.

Stayed at this quirky hotel loved it staff where very friendly despite my rubbish attempt at speaking French LOL. Bansky inspired hotel with amusing artwork. Good breakfast menu sets you up for the day Would return 👍🏾

The hotel has some rooms that are linked to the artist Banksy. Visitors of the next door museum therefore also walk in the hotel itself which is not safe and disturbing during the day. The Banksy concept is a nice touch but for the rest the rooms are simple and small. The double beds were a bit tiny (as was the room in total). Sufficient possibilities to store your clothes but little space beyond that. We also lacked aircon but that weekend it was over 35 degrees so extreme. But staff left open the window and the curtains so the room heated up a lot during the day. Staff was very nice and attentive. The location was in a relatively quiet street with a pedestrian street with several bars and restaurant around the corner. Located close to several subway and bus stops so good for travelling around in Paris. Also relatively close-by are Gare du Nord and Gare d'Est, with Saint Lazare just over 20 minutes walking. Still, we felt that given the size of the room and the amenities offered in it, it was a bit overprized for just a week in June.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Walled hotel. Very friendly staff, always willing to help. Rooms are spacious and cleaned. The breakfast was delicious can't wait to go back and spend even more time there as the location is just perfect.... I really enjoy the concept
