Hotel de La Herse d'Or

Toilet and shower in the same space as the bed was interesting. Super small room, but sufficient for my one night in Paris before flying home.

Mid week trip with daughter and wife. Paris on the 14th of February is a great time to visit Paris in love. Herse d'or hotel is a great location near the Bastille,le Marais St Paul District, and walking distance to Notre Dame is 20 minutes max The area is very central to all attractions and metro networks, which takes a while to get used to, a general lack of sign posting in stations and lines are poorly connected and the rear lines creates confusion. The hotel has been recently refurbished and now with lift to all floors. Clean and comfortable, double room is excellent for this part of Paris, excellent bathroom facilities, and quiet, staff are absolutely great, and friendly and welcoming, especially Aamir and Imane, who will help you with any questions about Paris, and both have great English but all tourists will find they are tri- lingual or more. Great restaurants in this district.

Good location which was the main reason for choosing the hotel, the price was also ok compared to other, similar hotels. Room for 3, clean, but carpet which I hate. The bathroom was VERY small. Functional, but okd and ready for renovation. Second floor and lots og noise from the street. Ok when window is locked, but must be terrible when summer and warm. Ok service.

Wait until they get an elevator and a drain system that works well.

Much smaller room than the pictures seem to indicate. Did not know there would be no elevator so we had to climb to fourth floor with bags. Not good when disabled.

Humble hotel with clean rooms in good location. Narrow stairs and no elevator (if you happen to get a higher floor)

The walls are a bit thin and you can hear the streets outside - but since street noise doesn't bother me and my neighbors seemed respectable, I had no issue with it. The staff is super sweet

It's a stone's throw from the Bastille and right in the trendy edge of the Marais and it's inexpensive so something's gotta give, right? You can't check in until 3:30 (nobody is even there) and my room was up four flights of stairs which made, say, going out for some water just too much to bother. Small but clean and fully functional this is a great budget find.

This hotel is in an excellent location and the staff are friendly. It has no lift and the staircase is quite steep, so you need to be fit to stay here, particularly if, like me, your room is on the 5th or 6th floor! My bed was comfortable and the room was clean, however neither the curtains or the bathroom door shut properly. Also for some reason, although there was a kettle and two paper cups in my double room, I had to ask for tea bags and cream at reception and was given one each time - I'm not sure why these weren't just left in the room. Final point - the bathroom was tiny with a shower that just had a curtain, so the floor got really wet. Overall I would say this hotel is good value for money for Paris and is in a great location with a metro station just a few minutes walk away, however it's worth spending a bit extra if you want something approaching your home comforts or you are treating someone.
