Rooms are on the small side (no space to set up my TRX), but well-designed. Not much lounge space in the room, but the ground floor cafe is a great space to grab a cup of coffee, work on a laptop, or just hangout and watch Parisian life go by on the Quay de Jemmapes. The staff are super kind and helpful. The neighborhood is full of interesting cafes and shops. You’re about a 30 minute walk from the Louvre, the Marais, Les Halles, 20 minutes to the park at Buttes-Chaumond. 15 minute walk to the Gare du Nord. And yet, in spite of its convenient location it never feels as though you’re in the middle of tourist Paris. Instead, you’re amongst French people doing French people things. The only downside is that it can be somewhat loud on the canal late at night but it never caused me to lose sleep. And the hotel provides earplugs. Can’t wait to come back!
