Hôtel Charing Cross

This is a brilliant little room for a solo traveller with a focus on travel efficiency.  As a fairly seasoned budget-conscious traveller this hotel room met all my needs. Yes, it’s small. The elevator, as mentioned by some before me, only comfortably fits one person at a time. But if you are travelling alone this issue is moot. The adjustable heating actually worked! Really well (something of a rarity in my euro travels) so did the hot and cold water. There was a bath (admittedly a very small bath, but a very pleasant and unexpected addition given the size and price of the room). There was a kettle!! (Hello. English)  a spare pillow and an extra blanket - all the little extras that make for a comfortable stay. I utilised them all, with immense gratitude. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. There was always someone available at the front desk. And - saving the best for last - the location was outstanding for transport links around Paris. I am the kind of traveller who drops into a new city for 2-3 days and tries to do everything within that time. If you are the same, there is no better recommendation than this hotel. Right across the road from the Saint-Lazard station from which most of the lines can be caught. Super happy with this hotel. If I visit Paris again I would genuinely not consider any other over it.

I loved the welcoming atmosphere of the staffs, the location, the bathtab and the small fridge. I'd love to stay there again for sure! For negative sides, there seem to be a few types of single room, and the size of the bed is different. On the last stay, I could sleep in a wider bed as in the picture, but this time I was assigned a single bed(90×190cm) as stated in the description. In addition, although there are windows, they are facing a courtyard and barely letting the sunshine in, which is a bit daunting. But if you spend most of the time outside the hotel and come back just for sleep, you may not mind it so much. And there were marks on my pillow cover from the start, so I hope they will improve the laundry. But these negative points are overweighed by the positives for me, and overall I recommend this hotel very much!

We felt welcome by all the staff member in the hotel from front desk to housekeeping and breakfast service. The rooms are well decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast has many choices. Easy to get around. Would stay here again for sure.
