Hôtel Le Chaplain Paris Rive Gauche

For sure this is a hidden gem on the Left Bank in Paris. From the moment we booked online until we checked out, the service was impeccable and we would go back in a heartbeat! We really enjoyed the location - not on a main street but rather a quiet side street within walking distance of many great restaurants, transit stops and lovely Luxembourg Gardens. We are walkers, so this was perfect for us. The hotel also arranged our transfer to the hotel after arriving in Paris from our transatlantic flight, which was very nice and convenient for us. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and lovely on each of our two mornings at the hotel. If you are looking for a quaint and charming hotel, this is the spot. The price point, including breakfast and all-day coffee/tea pastries in the lobby, was also very reasonable for Paris - around $350CAD per night. Note they are currently undergoing some renovations to freshen up the property, but assured us they wouldn’t be compromising the charm and quaintness of the hotel. We would stay here again for sure!

Excellent service, clean rooms, very friendly staff, very cute lobby with 24 seven snacks, coffee, hot chocolate. Wonderful location, or you can walk to many attractions and the metro. Next to several restaurants and a wonderful tiny wine bar.

Staying in Paris for 7 days for a Conference, I couldn’t have chosen a better base than Hotel Chaplain. From the minute I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming and made me feel very much at home. Although I speak French, the staff are all multi-lingual so you won’t have any problems if you are not a French speaker. My room (on the ground floor near a pretty courtyard) was very comfortable and would suit someone who needs the added advantage of rails in the bathroom and is easily accessible for anyone with restricted mobility. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked beautifully, there was a heated towel rail in the bathroom (luxury!) and f you could wish for anything else the mini bar was stocked with bottles of sparking and still mineral water, soft drinks and snacks and whatever drinks you consume during each day are replaced free of charge EVERY DAY! For me, heading out each morning to a conference, to be able to take bottles of cool water during a hot week in Paris was a huge bonus. Need a taxi? They will call one for you. Need directions to a particular place? They will explain in detail. Need a recommendation for a restaurant or cafe? You won’t be disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was delivered with a warm, genuine smile and care for your well-being. Particular thanks go to Jean-Baptiste and Eugénie, both of whom made my stay here quite unforgettable.

Perfect location, 2 minute walk from Vavin metro station. Small clean hotel. The reception staff were so lovely and welcoming always checking how our stay was. They also sent us a lot of recommendations before we arrived. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend. There is a small lift that just about fit the 2 of us in with luggage. We were on the 3rd floor so the narrow staircase wasn’t an option. We had a fridge in our room stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks. The air con in the room was amazing in the humid weather. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby to suit all budgets.

The staff was nice, and helpfull. The bathroom didn't have any kind of heating, not even the floor. So to not freeze we had to turn in the A/C in the room on max an det the bathroom door stay open when we were out. Then the room of course was to hot when we came back, and the bathroom was about average. The breakfast was small, dry and unsatisfying. We even experienced flies at the food traces. And the fish served as a post of the breakfast wasn't covered up. The room was good noise cancelled, didn't hear much from outside.

Just finsihed our stay at the hotel and it was great. The room was a good size and very clean. Staff were all very friendly and a metro station within 5 minutes walk. Very close to many bars and restaurants. We will definitely be returning!
