Helpful staff and clean facilities, sauna not working for some reason, expensive restaurant. Pool was pleasant enough, great location, and many restaurants in the vicinity.

The hotel is right next to Piazza Vendôme. The location is very good. We walked to all the attractions. If you get up early, you can go for a run in Madame Dorit Park and walk to the Louvre in five minutes. The hotel room is relatively large in Paris, and the suite is big enough for a family of four. The only thing to note is that because of the location, the surrounding consumption is very high. If you go to the left bank to spend money, it will be much more economical.

Definitely consider the reviews below before you stay at this establishment – 100% agree that this is not a five-star hotel. I’ve stayed at numerous hotels in Paris and I always try my best to stay balanced with my reviews. I want to start off with the positives.. because unfortunately the negatives largely outweigh the positives. The room size itself was actually quite decent – we booked the comfy suite, and it had ample room for my husband and my daughter (including a crib in the bedroom). I know there are a lot of reviews on the size of the room, but as a New Yorker… it’s what’s expected, and I was oddly surprised with the space. The furniture is laid out efficiently (though I will get to quality shortly) and it was nice to have two bathrooms – though one bathroom is probably better to free up space. The renovations in the lobby are quite nicely done – wish it translated into the rooms themselves. Breakfast was included (Platinum member) and the options were pretty good. Location is fantastic in terms of walkability, though not sure I would stay in the Vendome Area again. Ok the negatives – let’s start with rooms. While the space is decent, the room quality and furnishings are minimal to say the least. It looked like you were staying in an Ikea decorated dorm room (you can see pictures below for our living room). Peeling furniture, no paintings on the wall, no rug, a nightstand being used as a coffee table, limited lighting… keeps going and feels like you are in a dungeon. While we had two bathrooms -neither were renovated and one had a shower that looks like what you would find in a 1990s renovated basement bathroom – tiny at best and unfunctional. Bathtub was rusting and disgusting. I called down to complain and was basically dismissed – no option to even move to a new hotel, since we had prepaid. Mind you.. we were paid between 700-1000 Euros a night, given new year’s… this was unbelievable in terms of what you were getting. The management is atrocious – incredibly rude and cold staff.. from the moment we stepped in, there was a front desk attendant yelling at a customer on the phone telling him that he was speaking too loud.. that should have been the start. Following my complaint, literally dismissed us, incredibly cold and felt uncomfortable even being in the hotel. They should have let us move to another hotel, if they did not want us to stay. My check out was the absolute worst – where she threw the bill at me and did not even communicate asking how our stay was, thank you, literally nothing. I think this starts with the higher-level management, which clearly needs training on hospitality. At breakfast, no highchair for my baby – I understand restaurants in Paris likely don’t have this, but a hotel restaurant – let alone a Marriott brand hotel not having options for children to sit in? Also no doorman - I think someone opened the door twice during our stay. I had to struggle getting through the door with my s

I’d like to start off that we always stay at 5 star hotels book with through Platinum Amex and are elite gold members of Marriott Bonvoy. I booked 2 rooms for the week of new years. We usually stay at the Ritz but they were booked along with other normal 5 stars hotels we stay at. After much consideration we decided to choose the Renaissance due to its location and trusting in the 5 star status it had along with the pictures. We arrived and it seemed like a cute small boutique hotel. They informed us that the rooms are on separate floors, even though I booked 6 months in advance and I specifically emailed them to book us on the same floor. They tell me “I hope you will accept” as if at that point I have a choice! The hallways have absolutely no heat. The rooms were tiny like cruise cabins. Our bathroom was divided with the toilet in the beginning of the room and tiny bathtub/shower was at the end. We had no shower gel and when asked they brought one with a broken pump. The floors in the room were freezing and the toilet seat. There was never a towel in the bathroom with the toilet. The king size bed was 2 twins mattresses which were slanted toward the middle, we had to place pillows so that we would stop waking each other up. They probably have never vacuumed that room since opening. Under the bed was more dust than in King Louis tomb with large dust bunnies fly out from under. We had to ask for everything each day, towels bathrobes, water etc. My kids room was even smaller. They couldnt even fit an open suit case on the floor. The restaurant downstairs had no milk for coffee in the morning for 3 days in a row. I was going to order milk for them through uber on the 4th day but was surprised that they actually received it. The staff were friendly and location excellent. The last day I am sitting and waiting for our car and noticed an actual giant roach crawling up my leg. I flicked it off with my phone and went and told the front desk staff and they had ZERO REACTION! As if it’s their pet and they don’t know why I’m complaining. I do not know who gave them 5 stars but they must have been missing at least 2 of their 5 senses. 3 stars is pushing it!

Cannot recommend. We choose this hotel because it part of the Marriott Bonvoy group but it is as far below Marriott service standards. While the location was good, the experience was extremely frustrating. Front desk staff is very pleasant but can offer little useful information. The common answer was ‘I don’t know’. Tomas the Concierge was technically polite but smug and dismissive. Upper management is not visible and nearly impossible to reach. There is little ‘bang for the buck’ -we didn’t not experience the value of our nearly $700 a night and we definitely did not feel valued as customers. There are so many other hotels in this area… don’t choose this one. **Attached our photos of the photo over the bed, and the room key because they were funny but not in a good way. And Marriott- if you read these reviews- this hotel does the brand a disservice.
