A genuine French and retro fusion hotel. Most clientelle seemed to be French, a couple of American accents heard too. Staff spoke good English and helped coach me with my clumsy French! Felt a bit dizzy walking down black and white chequered hallway to the room. Room itself was small but no surprise given pics and room dimensions on their website. A few loose bits e.g. wall panelling and a plug socket. Nice pipework art around the TV too! Not a lot of storage, but small seating area very versatile. Good size bathroom and shower, toilet surprisingly high off the ground! Comfortable beds, even though we asked for double but was just two singles pushed together and not made up as a double (shhets/duvet), hence only 4 stars. Fair selection of restaurants across the road, but well worth heading across the science park to the rear and wandering down the canal towards more bars and eateries. Some reviews suggest this is a rough area but people out and about seemed decent enough and we felt pretty safe. Just far out of the city to feel less tourist-y. Breakfast was good, selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereal, pastries.. although fruit salad kept running low and slow to replace (my partner's favourite) We mostly walked into the city, pretty sore feet by end of our short break, but transport links are good too and metro station is close by. Would certainly consider this hotel again if coming back to Paris.

Perfect for a business trip, everybody was very kind to us and helpful. The place is convienient, closed to the airport, and from the center of Paris. Soundproofing of the rooms don't look very high, but never been disturbed by sound from the adjoining room. May be not the best hotel in Paris, but very nice staff and good enough for few nights in the city. And the canal area is a great place.

Very nice establishment, clean, very pleasant staff. On the other hand, the neighborhood sucks in the evening

The hotel is in a really nice position very close to the metro station of Jaurès that can get you basically everywhere. The place was clean and there is the chance to leave there your luggage if you come to early for check in or if you need to leave it after check out. That earns the 2 stars in my review. Unfortunately this was probably my worst experience in a hotel. Checking in I was told that we got an upgrade and, instead of our view on the city we got what is supposedly a better room facing an internal wall. I must say that I am not sure if that was really an upgrade because it didn't feel like it - and this makes me wonder what would have been a regular room. Rooms are poorly insulated and I could hear perfectly what was going on in the rooms next to our. The cleaning was good, but unfortunately the cleaning lady forgot to close our door and, when we came back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we found the door open. The only answer we got when we reported the issue was ”oh, that's not good” - indeed it isn't. Growing up in a similar business I have been taught to do what it take to make happy your guests and I found odd that I couldn't get a couple of spoons when I asked for them (”breakfast is closed now so we don't have spoons”). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The price doesn't match the service.

Stopped here for a couple of nights. First impressions were not good - I did not get a very warm welcome and my passport, TousCovid, Credit Card etc were checked in a borderline rude manner. However the room was fine. It was a little on the small side, but I was on my own so this was not an issue. It was quiet at night in the room so I slept fine. The room was very clean. The ”hotel bar” was pretty much just a fridge in the reception. A free breakfast was served in the morning. The woman in charge of breakfast was much more friendly than the reception staff. There is a branch of Aldi over the road, and a couple of other places you can eat nearby. Good public transport links. Gare Du Nord is not far away. The hotel was decorated with Rosa Parkes themed decor which was good. I think I would stay here again, my main issue was with the attitude of reception staff.

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. The hostel was perfect for our visit to the capital. After a somewhat slightly off-putting start (the person at the bar asked us to wait / ignored us so that he could finish his inventory, then told us to go to the cash dispenser and pay the three nights upfront as his card reader was broken), the rest of the stay was good, and the other members of staff were very friendly and professional. We had booked a private double room. It is located on the fifth floor (no lift). The room comprises of a double bed, a low table with two stools, and a shower room. There are coat hooks by the entrance (we had brought coat hangers) and two bins. The windows are double glazed, although the one in the bathroom does not close properly. There are thick curtains in the bedroom which keep the light out when needed. As it's a busy street, the noise from the street below is noticeable, and because the hostel is close to the fire station, there are often some sirens. We can also hear when the other guests open their doors, which are very creaky. So to be fair, our sleep has been disturbed a few times, but it comes with being in Paris - the same happened to me in the past when I stayed at some friends' places. The room came with two towels (one medium, one large) and two small bottles of shower gel. There was also a large toilet roll. The two bins have been emptied daily. There are enough power plugs to charge our devices, and free wi-fi. The floor felt somewhat sticky (we had brought flip flops), but the bed and bathroom were clean (the shower room is rather dated but the bed is comfortable). People had complained about the bleach smell in previous reviews so.i.had brought a scented candle just in case, but it wasn't needed. The bedroom door opens with a card, which needs to be reactivated each time you come in, as the metro can interfere with it. The staff happily does it in a few seconds, as they welcome you in each time. The hostel also has a kitchen if you want to cook, but we haven't tried it. The bar on the ground floor seems to have a good selection of drinks. The area is really nice, with the Metro station one minute walk away, lovely cafes and bars nearby, picturesque canal Saint Martin, and we also found a small street market on Sunday morning not too far away. It is easy to walk to and from the centre of town from the hostel. We felt safe in the streets, there are schools and families living in the neighborhood. All in all, it was the cheapest accomodation we found in Paris at the time, and we felt perfectly safe and at home, in a great location. We would happily go back!
