Hotel Lutetia, Paris

Paris|0.85km from Eglise Notre Dame des Champs
What else would you do on a wet, blustery, rainy March afternoon in Paris, but pamper yourself with a leisurely high tea at the wonderful Lutetia Hotel? My daughter and I booked a 3pm slot and having deliberately foregone lunch, we arrived hungry & right on time. We were seated immediately by a very efficient & kind hostess beneath the highly decorative glass roof in Le St-Germain and ordered the set afternoon tea menu for 65€ with Blue of London tea for me and a delicious thick hot chocolate for her. Our drinks arrived promptly and we chatted as we waited for the pièce de résistance: 3 savoury and 7 sweet items. After another 35 minutes of waiting, our stomachs finally stopped rumbling. Obviously chef patissier Nicolas Guercio's creativity wowed us, especially the Crab with yuzu sansho, daikon infused with grapefruit on the savoury side, while the Pineapple and green cardamom sorbet vied with the Scones clotted cream and raspberry jam (memories from my childhood!) on the sweet side. What wowed us much less was the fact that we were asked to vacate our table at 4:50pm! Not only had we waited 40 minutes to actually eat our afternoon tea, but now we were being rushed out after an hour and 10 minutes! Nowhere on the website was there mention that you have under 2 hours to consume your afternoon tea. So future afternoon tea amateurs, beware, there's no such thing as a leisurely afternoon tea at the Lutetia!

This is a good place, just near the Montparnasse building. It is recommended that you book a hotel near the Montparnasse Tower. This high-rise building in Paris is very easy to find and convenient. satisfaction!

Great location, service, room size, and amenities! St. Germain is a cute neighborhood that has more local character vs. others like the Champs Elysees. You are nestled between two streets with abundant cafes, shops and restaurants minus the overly congested foot traffic. Gabriel was a terrific host making restaurant recommendations, reservations, and commandeering our shopping deliveries. The room was one of the larger European rooms I’ve stayed in with a large king bed and full size bed…plenty of room for 3 adults! Water pressure-strong, water temperature-hot and there were 2 sinks making getting ready a breeze.

We were here two nights in March I had booked the suite , room 62 at the sixth floor. It is a boutique hotel. Reception very small but very clean. Lift small, with baggage we turned up. The hall is not available and when the lift is opened you are in front of the room. On the sixth floor only 2 rooms. This is a wonderful room, without moquettes (a rarely in Paris) and wide. Excellent cleaning and daily dressing exchange. The hotel has a very comfortable bed, both our sofa and the baby's sofa. In the next streets (the studio of Modigliani, gauguin workshop, artist workshop, etc.), a magical way to make dreams. nice staff. The walker was always left down to them, even the baggage the last day.

When I made a reservation, all other hotels in Paris were expensive, but the location here was good and cheap. The air conditioner is good and small, but there is an elevator. I didn't feel it, but when I wash it in the bathtub, the water is too draining. The ankle is locked. ... It's not bad except that.

I’ve seen some lackluster reviews of this hotel so I’ll start by saying that I disagree with them. First I’d recommend looking at the dates of these reviews. Most of them are old. Our experience here was great. We had a long stay, nine nights, so we really got to know the hotel and the staff. Every person we met was extremely friendly and helpful. You get the feeling that they truly care about your comfort and experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfy with fresh sheets daily if you want them. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with thick good smelling towels and as much hot water as you can use. This is not a Hilton or some big chain hotel. This is a Paris hotel owned and ran by Parisians. Stay here for a great Paris experience.

If you seek to get a true local feel during your stay, this hotel is IT. The Lenox Montparnasse gives a taste of Paris, in a neighborhood that provides a French flair. So close to many cafes, bars, and without the tourist prices. The beds were comfortable, and the shower had lots of hot water and great water pressure. We had two hot days in the 90s, and the AC was welcomed. Not all Parisian hotels have AC, and we were sure glad they did. Breakfast was generous with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, croissants, breads, cheeses. There also was an assortment of cereals, yogurts, and fruits. We booked the junior suite for a larger space and it was totally worth it. This place is conveniently located between two metro stops. We bought the Navigo pass for the week, which made transportation super convenient. Staff was attentive and friendly. Even when I asked for a whole bucket of ice. We definitely will be back!
