SO/ Paris Hotel

Paris|2.13km from Chocolatier de Paris
I booked my wife to stay at this hotel recently and she loved it. I needed to be in Paris, and decided to try it myself. It is now the place I will always try to stay in Paris. The great thing about this hotel is that it is a perfect trade-off of price/location. In September, we stayed at the Faubourg Sofitel (also Accor) which is about as 'Prime Paris' as you can get. Right next door to the Elysee. For that, you got a hotel which was about 50% more expensive, for 40% less product. SO/ is central, but a bit on the edge, and for me that is worth every cent of the tradeoff. Additionally, the tradeoff places you right next to the river with views of Paris that are sensational. And anyway you are 5 mins on foot to the Places des Voges - this is still beautiful Paris. Other big pluses: - food quality is really high in Bonnie. We went for dinner and breakfast. Both great. Dinner buzzy, and possible the most beautiful breakfast room views imaginable. In summer.... wow. - rooms are extremely high quality fit out. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Just be aware that there is now bath or desk even if a room which could accomodate it - staff are charming and very well trained. - access by car is easy. Very few people will be driving (but I was). Access is super simple, and the valet parking v reasonable (about Eur40) - I didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked amazing by Paris hotel standards - I loved the design concept of the hotel. It is young and modern without being like a W (which I don't like... trying too hard) I strongly recommend. Thank you SO/ Paris.

The averages Trip advisor reports for Location, Cleanliness, Service, and Value are about right, as is the 7.8 on booking com. The room I was given (on the first floor) was well appointed (separate toilet and shower, good bed, small but workable writing desk, large safe, etc.) The tv had only French-language channels with the exception of channel 100 which features BBC programming. The view was nothing to write about which was fine with me. The wifi was stable throughout. It stopped working on the morning of the second day for reasons I then did not understood. When I called the frontdesk I was told that it worked for them and that I just should wait it out. What? Turns out the problem is that you have to sign in every day anew. I figured it finally out. Alas, one would hope that the front-desk knows this problem which I am sure other guests have also encountered. Overall, the service is ok though. The brekkie was .. modest. The coffee was of variable quality, the scrambled eggs were ... pitiful, ... and there was not much selection. I guess, you get what you pay for (12 Euros). You can work there though since he wifi is stable there, too. The location of the hotel is very good; the place is a 10 - 15 Euro taxi ride away from Gare de Lyon and the Bercy bus station. Importantly, within 100 meter radius there is about half a dozen (mostly) Vietnamese eating places which are all quite good (e.g., the friendly and inexpensive banh place to the left of the hotel and the outstanding and very inexpensive Chinese ”crazy noodles” place to the right. Try both.) There is another hotel not far away that I prefer and typically stay in which is better along all dimensions (ask me), and offers better value, but the Paris-Italie is a creditable fall-back option.

Citadines Place d'Italie Paris

The hotel is located in the 13th arrondis*****t of Paris. The location is very convenient. The subway station is right downstairs. The catering is also very developed. There are many Chinese people nearby, it is safe and there are many Chinese food. The hotel waiters speak good English and can communicate normally. The hotel provides free coffee, three levels of espresso coffee and a cream coffee, which are very authentic. They also provide tea bags and water. There are three types of water, ice water, sparkling water and ordinary water.

The hotel is right next to the Piazza Italia subway station. The transportation is extremely convenient, and it is also convenient to eat nearby. This hotel has rooms with small balconies. It is best to book a room with a balcony. The sanitary conditions of the room are average and the facilities are relatively old. Roads are being built around the area, which is a bit messy. The last point is, if you can call the hotel directly to book a room, contact it directly, do not go through an agent or Ctrip.

The rooms are small, the facilities are rudimentary, but they are clean. The key is that the location is very good, two minutes to the subway station, it is very convenient to go to the main attractions. There is also a Vietnamese powder shop nearby, which is more suitable for Asians. There are two clerk members who are mainland compatriots. I feel very cordial and very caring. If you choose to stay here for a day or two, after all, the price is high. The person who pays attention is still forgetting.

Ibis Paris Place d'Italie 13th

From the begining, there was a problem with the water drain in the shower and the water flowed through the wall into the bedroom.. Although the water drain was fixed on the second day after our request, the flooded bedroom carpet was not properly cleaned and was extremely smelly. It was very difficult to sleep in the room. We were moved to another room after the receptionist confirmed the bad smell in the room only after 3 nights, so we stayed 2 remaining nights in a clean room. Some of receptionist were not professional at all. The main receptionist was kind and helpfull.

The hotel is neat and clean and rooms are very well-maintained. The breakfast service was also really good. While the location is extremely convenient, there is a bit of noise from the traffic so maybe there is some way to insulate the rooms from this. On one night there was quite some noise from someone talking loudly till about 1 am. So, aside from getting the room slightly better insulated, I think the hotel is very good value for money
