Best Hotels near Centre Commercial Kids, Paris

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. The staff are attentive and the cleaners made a big difference in their care and attention to the room. I would expect the issues we faced from a much cheaper hotel. But: - Unsightly hole in the bathroom wall, about 40cmx20cm, which had been just about repaired and left the bathroom a mess. -Toilet roll holder was broken with no attempt to replace it. - Shower had body hairs from the previous guests when we arrived and toilet was stained. - Bed sheets were ripped / had holes in them. - The air conditioning unit was so loud that it couldn’t be used at night, so the window had to be left open which meant all the nightlife kept you up for much of the night. - plastic camping lights attached to the bed felt like a massive attempt to save money by not investing in nicer decor. - Very little floor space - Scratchy small towels felt like a Brillo pad. - Flimsy dirty shower curtain. All in all, we got the impression that the owners were avoiding shelling out any money on the hotel itself and the guests’ experience in order to make more profit, including not buying new sheets when they rip, which seems like an absolute basic of hotel management. Would not be coming back if we can help it.

We arrived at Hotel Amoi mid morning and were greeted by Alli. It is a small boutique hotel and very attractive from the street. We were given a room quickly and Alli took the time to show us the breakfast area, where a complimentary breakfast was being served by the fabulous Fathia. A sitting room is right off of the front desk area. It is filled with wonderful books, refreshments, and a wonderful place to sit. The main breakfast area has a large table to seat guests. The breakfast items are fresh, and their croissants are some of the best in the city. The omelettes that Fathia makes are wonderful and a great way to begin your day. Juices, sodas, water and different coffees and teas are set out daily. Croissants, pastries, breads, pancakes, crepes with nutella are available each morning. Cheese and meats with breads are an option also. A superior meal! Breakfast begins at 7am. Fathia greeted us each day with a cappuccino, asking us our breakfast preference for that day. What a treat. ......We reserved a K room with courtyard view. Our room was very spacious and extremely clean. It was equipped with a coffee pot with pods and tea kettle with tea bags, along with a mini frig. A room safe is also provided.. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board were in the closet. A set of slippers and robe was provided for each guest. The bathroom was spacious and had a towel warmer as well as many toiletries provided. ........ Alli answered all questions that we had before heading out to walk the city. Lou also manned the front desk area and was just as sweet and helpful as Alli. We would start out each day asking questions and having them answered by these wonderful young women. ..... Hotel Amoi is located on the edge of the Place de la République and the Haut-Marais. There are many restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and shops, as well as grocery stores around the hotel. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel each day. When we did need to take an Uber, one was usually available within 3-4 minutes. ......I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Amoi for your stay in Paris. ....Thank you Alli, Lou, and Fathia for making our 8 day stay with you so enjoyable.

The hotel is in a really nice position very close to the metro station of Jaurès that can get you basically everywhere. The place was clean and there is the chance to leave there your luggage if you come to early for check in or if you need to leave it after check out. That earns the 2 stars in my review. Unfortunately this was probably my worst experience in a hotel. Checking in I was told that we got an upgrade and, instead of our view on the city we got what is supposedly a better room facing an internal wall. I must say that I am not sure if that was really an upgrade because it didn't feel like it - and this makes me wonder what would have been a regular room. Rooms are poorly insulated and I could hear perfectly what was going on in the rooms next to our. The cleaning was good, but unfortunately the cleaning lady forgot to close our door and, when we came back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we found the door open. The only answer we got when we reported the issue was ”oh, that's not good” - indeed it isn't. Growing up in a similar business I have been taught to do what it take to make happy your guests and I found odd that I couldn't get a couple of spoons when I asked for them (”breakfast is closed now so we don't have spoons”). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The price doesn't match the service.

After much research, I booked Hotel Beaurepaire for my husband and I based on the location and great price. We requested a balcony room as we were celebrating our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised to have been granted our request upon arrival and the balcony was 1000% the move. I would have been disappointed in the accommodations without it. Made the small room feel much bigger and you get to experience the sounds of the neighborhood. The hotel has no AC which was fine for the cooler temps we experienced. There is a fan in the room which helped as well. The bathroom is so small. Nice shower but you can hardly sit on the toilet, the wall is so close to it. Turn down service was wonderful, everything in the room clean, and the Nespresso machine was great. You can hear other guests through the walls but the fan drowns it out. The hotel could use some upgrades in the lobby and stairwells. The elevator is as small as they say; room for one person and maybe one suitcase. Great restaurants and bakeries in the neighborhood and easy access to the Metro and bus lines. Overall we loved being in this neighborhood and the staff was so helpful and friendly.

There is something about this hotel that takes you back to times past. Loved the winding staircase, the grafitti on the walls. We stayed in the urban room, which was minimalist, with concrete pipe sections for some of the furniture, street style paintings on the walls, ceiling beams painted red. View from the room was out onto a square which was fascinating to see the various characters throughout the day. very comfortable bed, decent shower room. Breakfast is taken down in the cellar, past more grafitti on the walls, loved it. Breakfast is more in the traditional french style, with bread and croissant served in a basket supplememted by cereal and yogurt. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. This hotel may not be to everyone's taste, but we loved it. The atmosphere and the location were good. Would visit again.

Good hotel. Solid experience. Feels like a 4 star hotel. Kind and accommodating staff. Giving me extra soft tissues as I had a cold during my stay. Nice little french balcony. Good location near metro and lots of restaurants and bars. Close to notre dame, and jardin luxembourg. Walkable pretty neighborhood(Paris 5eme) right by Sorbonne University. Would come back, hopefully without a cold next time. Only drawback, bar is seldom serviced and the selection is limited.

The location is unbeatable as far as distance from many historic attractions. For the price of the room ($700) it is quite expensive as the room is simple, as are the amenities. Most of the hotel staff were friendly. Check in and check out went smoothly. When I went to ask about a power adapter, the person I spoke to was short and rude with me. My partner is French and everyone was more friendly with him and willing to help.

I don't expect luxury from a hostel, but I do expect cleanliness. On the surface the hostel appears clean. Most importantly, the bed sheets and mattress are clean. However, look beyond that and you'll see it's filthy and obviously never given a deep clean. Down the side of the lower bunk there is what must be months and months of rotten food, old socks, dirt and dust that has been allowed to collect. No wonder the room smells so musty and stuffy. My bunk had blood streaks from a squashed bug (and live mosquitoes flying about), as well as sticky finger prints all over the bed panels and window. Furthermore, the noise level is crazy. I understand on a Friday people want to party so the bar was blasting out music and the 1st floor rooms are not sound proof - I actually didn't mind that. What annoyed me was the fact that they were blasting music through the speakers in the 1st floor toilet/shower rooms. WHY?! This made the room and hallways even noisier. Its only saving grace is the location (and free wi-fi). It can feel a bit dodgy walking through there alone as a single woman at night, but so can any big city... The hostel is close to some great bars, restaurants, and tourist attractions (Père Lachaise Cemetery, for example). I'd recommend hiring a bike to get around - there's quite a few Vélib' bike stations a short walk away.

It was the second time that I stayed there and my first time solo. I had an issue with my room but they solved it really quick. The staff is super polite, the rooms are comfy and the breakfast has lots of selections and offers. I'm really happy with my stay here.
