Pousada do Príncipe

The location of the inn is good, very close to the historic center. But our stay has already started badly when trying to park. They do not have their own parking, and a fee of 30 reais per day is charged to park in a place without any security 1 and a half blocks away from the inn. Upon entering the room, the floor was filthy, making it impossible to walk barefoot without getting very dirty feet. The accommodations are ok for Paraty standards, but lack some care and maintenance. The hotel's restaurant has good food, but the service is terrible. We ordered the dish at 21:40 under pressure from the waiter since the kitchen was going to close at 22:00 and we went to dinner 1 hour and a half later, when it was after 23:00. Breakfast is average, nothing freshly made, artificial juices, things ran out and took a long time to be replenished, without a lot of variety of options. The staff is poorly prepared, they take a long time to meet any demand. The outdoor area is a beautiful and pleasant environment but they do not offer any bar service and towels for the pool and sea are charged separately. Anyway, I would never go back to Pousada do Príncipe. And I don't recommend it! There are better and cheaper options in Paraty.

It was a dream to stay at this inn, and I realized that I had a very wrong view regarding this place, unfortunately. At my check-in there was a confusion about the parking spaces, the misunderstanding may have been on my part, but the receptionist was rude and simply ignored me when I checked in. As I have already seen another guest complaining, he even explained where I could park my car, he wanted to know who I had talked to on WhatsApp that the information I had was wrong. After hours on the road, I had to walk in the back streets of the inn and ask random people where I could park my car, because the receptionist was zero attentive, quite the opposite! When I returned from my search there was another receptionist in the place, he heard me talking went there and turned around and just hid inside like a spoiled boy and not like an employee. This other person checked us in and gave us all the tips about parking and etc. When I got to the room, there was only one bath towel - since we were in two people - I returned to reception to request a towel and came across the two receptionists talking about me. I had already been so nervous that I pretended to be insane and went upstairs. Breakfast is ok, nothing special. The air conditioning is very old and very noisy. The shower faces the hallway, with a little window all cute, so while you shower, people passing in the hallway hear you, and you also hear people doing their business and taking a shower while you pass in the hallway. The bar staff are very nice and as they say, they make the best Jorge Amado in Paraty, I recommend it. Ah, the “toilet paper” in the bathroom is not that roll you use in your house, it's like that sandpaper spreader, terrible! You pay 500 reais a day to not even have decent toilet paper. In short, a disappointment. I won't be back and I won't recommend it, Paraty is full of inns, and next time I'll definitely go to something better.

O isolamento acústico dos quartos é péssimo, você ouve os hóspedes do quarto vizinho em tudo, inclusive muito barulho da rua. Primeiro fomos colocados em um quarto de frente para a piscina, pequeno, desconfortável, para trocar só poderia com um Up grade, foi feito, os colaboradores nem sequer nos ajudaram a carregar as malas nesse momento, ao final da conta cobram 10% de tava de serviço, sem sentido algum (sem estar acordado, dizem que fica a seu critério, mas é uma situação desagradável negar de pagar), além disso o Wi-Fi não funciona, a cama não era confortável, banheiro muito ruim. Não recomendo, pelas fotos parece bom, mas não é, acredito que já deve ter sido um bom hotel no passado. Não vale o dinheiro gasto. Não voltaremos e nem recomendarei para quem conheço.
