We chose this hotel after staying in the King Jason Protaras in 2023, we had a great experience there. King Jason Zante has only just opened on 1st July 2024 and we stayed in the first week of opening. Unsurprisingly there are still aspects of the hotel that need finishing and we were told of this prior to our arrival. The hotel location is on a hillside just above the town of Tsilivi, you can walk to the town in 5 minutes and there is a very small and limited beach area which was very crowded. Unfortunately, unlike Protaras there isn't a promenade and we didn't find a nice beach walk within easy reach. Tsilivi town is mainly bars, tavernas and gift shops, probably fine if you are looking for more lively entertainment. Zakynthos is a 10 minute (€15) taxi drive and offers a lot more interest and variety. On arrival, the first thing you notice are the views across the Ionian Sea to Kefalonia and mainland Greece - they are spectacular and visible from all of the bedrooms, main pools, dining and bar areas. There is a great sense of space and even with full occupancy (it was 60% when we stayed) there will be plenty of room in the pool areas and sunbeds/cabanas for everyone. No need to get up early and claim a sunbed. We stayed in a second floor standard room without a swim up, the room was perfectly fine with a small balcony and fantastic sea/pool view. In hindsight we probably would have preferred the swim up for the flexibility of being able to swim out. The bed was very comfortable, great shower and nice complimentary toiletries. Nespresso machine for coffee lovers but no tea/milk for those that like it but I am sure they will resolve this. Small niggle is the joint his/her sink - they might look nice but totally impractical for shaving and saving water. The other main concern (which is beyond the hotel's control) is that the local dogs and cockerels from nearby residential properties disturbed our sleep on a regular basis and I know that this was an issue for other guests. For a hotel offering a relaxing getaway this is a very difficult issue to resolve other than resorting to ear plugs (this may be room specific, i.e. those rooms closest to the nearby residences at the entrance to the hotel). Worth mentioning as well that in block 1 and 2 proximity to the entrance means that traffic is audible particularly early in the morning - lorries reversing etc. WiFi is excellent across the whole hotel estate. One of the most noticeable aspects of our stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff in all of the areas of the hotel. They were getting used to new systems and processes but they made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and it was very apparent that a lot of effort had gone in to ensuring customers had a good experience. There are 3 main dining options available at different times. The main dining and breakfast restaurant was very good with a wide selection of options. Their salads were fabulous. Pisco and Haroub were the oth
