It's spacious enough for three people, and is as luxurious as a four-star hotel in Western Europe. It's right next to the tourist attractions, and a single room for around 8,000 yen per night is incredibly cheap. It's a great deal and I highly recommend it.

The location is first-class, there is a large supermarket at the door, there are many restaurants near the seaside, the only disadvantage is that there is no elevator, if the elderly live on the 3rd floor, it will be more difficult!

Unfortunately, for us the negatives very much outweigh the positives at this accommodation. This is a long review, but if you are considering booking this accommodation, I would urge you to think again, and read this before doing so. POSITIVES: This accommodation is very well located, within a 5 minute level walk to the harbour and many bars and restaurants. There is a large very well stocked supermarket over the road. The pool area is nice and is well kept, we observed the pool and the sunbeds being cleaned every morning. There are a number of beautiful old olive trees around the pool, and the fallen olives were cleared away every morning. There are a few sunbed mattresses that could do with being replaced but as it was never very busy, this was never an issue for us. We were self catering so can't comment on the food. We booked a 1 bed superior apartment and were given a 2 bed apartment in Thalia Block. There is no lift in Thalia - not a problem for us, but some people may need to be aware. The apartment size was very good. NEGATIVES: The apartment was very dirty and although the beds were made and clean towels provided, the apartment hadn't been cleaned at all, not even hoovered. The whole apartment was dirty: floors, doors, handles, wall tiles, windows and 2 air con units didn't work. On reporting this, the receptionist suggested I remain in the apartment to direct the cleaner. This was my holiday and I'm not the cleaning supervisor. I shouldn't have to do this, so I refused and said the whole apartment needed cleaning. The floor was cleaned and the air con units repaired. The patio door lock was broken and didn't lock, this was never repaired. We were on the second floor so felt it was unlikely that anyone could get in via the balcony, but this is besides the point, the apartment should be secure. Even the crockery needed washing - bits of dried food and smears. There was no cleaning equipment available in the apartment at all. We always book an apartment and there is usually a broom, dustpan/brush, mop, washing up liquid, dishcloth etc - there was nothing. It felt as though the apartment hadn't been used in a long while. We had 1 change of towels during our week's stay - these were just left on the sofa, but not all of the old towels were removed which was just as well as an incomplete set had been left. They also left 2 clean sheets on the sofa but didn't put them on the beds - this was only enough for 1 single bed anyway. The apartment had British 3 pin sockets, but all the appliances were European 2 pin. I asked how we were meant to use them and was grudgingly given 1 adapter and advised no others were available. We could therefore only use 1 appliance at a time, so you can't make a cup of tea and use the toaster at the same time - ridiculous. The general areas in Thalia were just as bad - they clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time and certainly weren't cleaned in the week we were there. One apartment had an old sofa cushion and d

We were slightly disappointed in the decor of the apartment, it is very dated and the bathroom needs to be changed, but we could see that they are working on the complex. We cannot fault the staff, they have been incredibly helpful and polite. The selection of food for the all inclusive has been exceptional, one of the best by far. This hotel is within walking distance of some beautiful places, excellent resort to stay in.

We've just returned from a week stay at basilica. We arrived late at night, and was greeted by the most friendly and welcoming receptionist, Crystella. We were offered sandwiches, as we'd missed dinner. Unfortunately the sister hotel hadn't notified Basilica, that myself and daughter were coeliac. We were given a box of fruit each (apple , 2 banana and grapefruit) and my husband ham and cheese sandwich. Crystella even offered to print our boarding passes off, on departure. We were in room 301 Thalia block, which is up 3 flights of stairs (no lift option), at the far end of the corridor. There was no working bulb outside 301 +302, and this was the case throughout out stay. The housekeeping left the mop and bucket outside our room all week. On 2 occasions, my family had near accidents, because the mop/ broom was laid across the corridor, obviously not visible, with no working light The apartment itself is very dated, but perfectly adequate. Lobby, kitchenette (microwave, fridge/ freezer, cooker) we didn't use as we were all inclusive. bathroom (bath + shower) additional bedroom (no bed) with broken and covered dishwasher..we stored our cases in this room. Bedroom, and dining room with sofa bed. Double balcony (which did have dried cat poo, which also stayed throughout our stay). The beds do have mattress protectors and were very comfortable :-) Our room was cleaned once during our stay, and unfortunately it was day 2, which resorted in our charger being damaged by house keeping. This was resolved and replacement purchased by management, after I address the issue with reception. We needed fresh towels, and on going to get these, from the only housekeeping point, discovered used plates, and rotting fruit stashed away. Obviously contributing to the ants we kept getting, including in our toiletries bag, and 2 cockroaches we found on our corridor. The restaurant front of house greeter, Yoti, was so lovely and welcoming, greeting all guests like old family and friends, chatting without being pushy. Raj and Katerina, make the most delicious fresh omelettes. The bar mn, who does the afternoon/ evening shift is so lovely and friendly, even chatting with my partner about when he worked a bar in England. The whole team are just wonderful ❤️ The pool is a little fresh at this time of year, but didn't stop my partner enjoying it. My daughter and I enjoyed the loungers, which are plentiful. There are a lot of resident cats, the black and white with black moustache, we nicknamed Cornell Nibbles, the silver grey, smokey all enjoy treats and kind words, and the occasional game of chase the paper straw! We did see a small room bit, just by the pool, with a small sign saying kids club. The door was always closed, lights on. 1 lady was always inside, and never looked approachable, and not once did we see her come out, and interact with the younger children. Not really applicable, as our daughter is 16, but even she commented, it was nothing like the kid

Our first 2 nights were in Thalia suite which had no lift and I struggled with stairs. Elli [Angel in reception] noticed and quickly organised a quick change to Harbour Suite [214] which had a lift that made all the difference. Top floor with views out over Papantoniou's and great sea views. Self catering with kitchenette and en suite facilities that Housekeeping staff maintained clean, with fresh towels every day unless declined by placing sign on door. The pool and surrounds are well maintained and notices reminding visitors to respect others and to NOT try reserving sun loungers with towels... there was plenty of loungers and shades for all every day. The only downside was the loud revving of m/c & quad-bike engines and squeeling of car tyres, caused by persons who sought to gain attention... which was not the Hotels fault and outside their control. All in all we had a great stay, thanks again to Elli and her Team.
