Just had the most incredible six nights at Borneo Eagle Resort, the service was just superb, the staff made our stay amazing, they could not do enough for us whether it was anticipating our needs or remembering exactly what we liked. It is a very remote resort but the benefits of that is that there are not thousands of tourists around and you get true relaxation and Tranquility. the food is ordered in advance and the chef was really accommodating to changes and menu tweaks, he managed to cook brilliant cuisine from every single continent! The villas were beautiful and the the trips were really good fun thanks to Shafiq. Kenneth at the bar was brilliant and so good with the kids and cocktails!! The Wi-Fi was horrific though so don’t plan on doing any work whilst you’re there, we never had it in the room at any time and only at the restaurant for short periods, Afnan the manager had to take us down the jetty and he let us use his own private phone at one point just to get a signal. They really tried to help whenever we had a problem with anything whether it was the Wi-Fi or the mosquitoes!! The main thing for the kids to do was the trips and playing in the pool which was so huge that they actually went paddle boarding in it every day. I highly recommend this resort if you want to be in a beautiful environment with incredible staff and fantastic food and get away from the crowds!!

The room was so huge that I felt like I suddenly became a rich person. It was so big that it was hard to imagine. We were the only family in the whole hotel. All the customer service staff, about 20 people or so, were around us. The service was good. The restaurant prepared various foods according to the needs of the guests, and the desserts were great, too. It was just a little lonely!

The room was very good, the service was very good, and the environment was also very good. Especially Uncle Kenneth. The children were very happy. We also saw the rainbow in the sunset.

The hotel only has a few villas and no guest rooms, so there are not many people in the entire resort. My family lives in a pool villa, and a little further from the pool is the beach. It was very comfortable to sit on the beach bed outside and look at the sea view. The hotel provides three meals a day, but the quality is quite good, and dinner is different every day. There are coconut trees planted in the hotel, and we packed fresh coconut juice back to the room for free every day to drink, basically drinking it as water. The hotel is on the edge of Tiga Island, but my phone did not receive a signal. It may be a phone card problem, so I can only rely on the hotel WiFi to access the Internet. However, there is no WiFi signal in the villa. Only the lobby, restaurant, and pool bar can provide it. Basically You can get away from the hustle and bustle and have a peaceful vacation. The pier where the hotel shuttle boat is located is relatively far from Kota Kinabalu City. Our family chartered a car and took about two hours. There is a section of road in the middle that is still under construction and the road condition is relatively poor. The shuttle boat is parked at the pier of the nature reserve patrol team. After arriving, talk to the hotel manager to arrange for an early boat pick-up.

I started with concerns as there were few reviews about the pool villa. It's difficult because the exact location of the ferry is not indicated. I was able to relax comfortably at the accommodation I arrived at thanks to the friendly staff. I liked the spacious rooms and private garden. Because it is an island, you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Meals are provided in sufficient quantities for each meal, and all drinks, except alcohol, are refillable. Considering the cost, there may be better options, but this is the most private pool villa in Kota Kinabalu. I praise the friendly staff.

We stayed at Borneo Eagle Resort for six nights at the end of a wildlife holiday in Borneo. It is the most amazing place! Luxury villas, excellent service, and the most amazing team of staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We enjoyed sea kayaking, archery, a trek to the small mud volcano, and snorkelling, all of which were included. I also had a wonderful relaxing massage. The view at sunrise from the pool villas is fabulous. The food is excellent and so are the fresh coconuts! If you're looking for a peaceful resort with fantastic service, I definitely recommend Borneo Eagle. We didn't want to leave!

Simply Beautiful. Very happy staff that greats you as you reach the resort. Just a dozen of villas facing the sea. Forest reserve literally behind the villas... Super. Must go for trekking in the beautiful forest with the Super Duper guides. Learn about the mud pool and how soothing it is for your tired skin. No mosquitoes when we were there. The pool villa is huge, clean and excellent. Wake up in the morning sun. The chef and the staff are very friendly. Food is yummy. First time I tried the chia seed pudding for breakfast. Now become part of my healthy breakfast. Excellent fresh fish / crabs and prawns. I love the desserts... The chef's pavlova is super-duper. Good selection of wine. Amazingly, the friendly hornbills nest on the trees next to the dining area. They are beautiful. I love this resort as it is only half an hour speedboat ride from mainland. The resort is so peaceful except for sounds of Nature. I love the huge "native" trees, the lovely varieties of hibiscus and bumble bees soaking up the morning glory flowers. Will be back for longer stay and forget about the mad rush of city life.

Unfortunately, there are rats in the bungalow at night that come in through a niche near the sliding door. Even live traps didn't help - on the "best" night, there were 7 rats in it. The rats also roam the restaurant. There is also erosion that could have been repaired long ago if the will had been there. The beach is full of flotsam and jetsam. The pool is only half full of salt water. The shampoo (etc.) bottles are made of glass (!) and if one breaks, you have to pay 52€ for it - an outrage. +++ The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating :-) :-) :-) The pool villa is very large, the bed very comfortable. The view is great, the pool has salt water again. The food is delicious. +++ We left a day earlier than planned because of the rats, and the management didn't respond to our email - extremely inappropriate for such an expensive resort. Communication is generally halting. Overall, disappointing, especially with the way the management treats its guests!!
