In Platres there are not many places open to eat in the evening in September but we got a decent meal here with a friendly helpful waiter who was happy for us to order food early but specify a time we’d like the food to arrive, which was most accommodating. The food was great, especially the slow cooked pork. The small outdoor seating area lacked much atmosphere though the colourful plants made an attractive barrier to the road. Good value for money.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but stopped by for refreshing smoothies. The smoothie was made from local fruits and was absolutely delicious with beautiful presentation. We had a little chat with lovely manager Chara, she was so sweet and gave us some plums from their garden to go. Highly recommend this place!

We wanted a budget friendly place to use as our base camp as we would be out hiking the natural trails and this small place was recommended to us. It is family owned and operated, super friendly and very accommodating. Rooms are clean and have all the little amenities like a/c, tv, kettle, small fridge and hair dryer. Breakfast is the basics such as cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, honey, tea and coffee but they will cook you an omelette or scrabble eggs and bacon and things like that if you want. The restaurant has a small menu but what we had (pork chop, chicken fillet) was near perfect with probably the best fries I had in forever. As a place to spend the night, shower and have some meals in while you are mostly out visiting places and hiking, this was perfect. Definitely coming back.

Das Positive vorweg: die Betreiber-Familie ist nett und hilfsbereit. Jetzt kommt das große Aber: Die Zimmer sind klein, das Bad (kann man kaum so bezeichnen) winzig, und so selbstverständliche Kleinigkeiten, wie eine Gratis-Flasche Wasser auf dem Zimmer fehlen. Für fast 100 € Ü/F dürfte man das erwarten. Überhaupt ist das Zimmer bestenfalls die Hälfte wert. Abendessen im Restaurant des Hotels: Ich könne a-la-carte essen. Schön. Die laminierte A4-Karte bestand aus geschätzt 20 Gerichten, von denen aber nur 3 verfügbar waren. Verständlich bei der geringen Hotel-Auslastung, aber nicht befriedigend. Das Frühstück war okay, aber auch nicht mehr. Zwei Scheiben Toast (auf Nachfrage) mit 10g Butter und Spuren von Käse und Wurst... naja. Der ganze Ort scheint noch in vergangenem Glanz zu schwelgen, aber die vielen geschlossenen Hotels und Restaurants zeigen, dass diese Zeit vorbei ist.
