Alona Gecko Inn

I first stayed here in April 2024. I revisited in July 2025 after trying a number of other hotels and air bnbs in the area. Over the past year, it seems my previous concerns have been addressed and the manager cares are customer feedback. I normally travel solo as a remote worker. This place is a top pick for people similar to me. Blazing fast internet tested at 288 down 37 up. A generator for when power goes out. Cleaning available in the afternoon in you work nights, a table and chairs inside the room. The room is pretty quiet by Filipino standards as the hotel sits off the road a bit. The room itself is spacious. New tvs have cable channels and all the apps you could want. Good heater in the shower and good water pressure. The bed is foam, which isn’t my preference, but the queen size has plenty of room. The air con works great, and there is also a ceiling fan. The staff are kind and engaging. Shout out to Jade for a number of positive interactions I’ve had with her during my stay.

Pretty decent budget hotel in panglao. Not too far from the beach. Quiet and off the road, but roosters in the morning. The internet is great. No desk, but a table with some chairs to do some work. No tv when I stayed, but I hear they have been added. The bed is basic foam mattress with a wooden frame. The sheets are fine, no blankets or comforter unless you request. The curtains were stained and filthy. The staff was friendly to apathetic. If you see a helper named jade, just run far away.

I recently stayed at this hotel and wanted to share my feedback. The location was fantastic, and the price was very reasonable, making it a great value option. The hotel staff were consistently nice and friendly, which was a definite plus. The cleanliness of the rooms was also commendable. On the other hand, the towels and bedsheets felt quite worn and rugged. While the air conditioning did work, I was unable to adjust the temperature to my preference. Lastly, although there was a TV in the room, it had a "coming soon" message displayed and was not operational during my stay.

Average at best A very average place. Rooms were clean and had some helpful things like safe box and drying rack but shower pressure was bad and avoid room 7. If you are unlucky like us and get this room you will get woken up by the doorbell that rings outside your door whenever anyone needs the reception.
