The location is a bit far from the pier. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is recommended to take a tuk-tuk. The room was very small and the network signal was very weak. I had to rely on my own network and couldn't connect to WiFi. I had to ask him to get hot water.

Stayed two nights in this hotel located just two blocks from the lake shore. The room was a little dark but comfortable. I was able to use a small kitchen to cook. There is also free tea and coffee pretty much throughout the day. A bilingual parrot is a nice attraction and is a totally free bird. They can organize transportation to Antigua or Guatemala City. All in all good value for your dollar/quetzal.

What a total disgrace of a hotel. We checked in and very quickly realised they hadn’t changed the bedding. There was a man’s beard hair and head hair all over the pillows. When we flagged it they did change the bedding and the lady apologised and said ‘it was my friend’. Totally disgusting, thought they could get away with it . avoid at all costs

In a town with many fine, affordable hotels, this remains my favourite. I showed up unexpected this time, without reservation. Marie, the wonderful host, said "Room with private bathroom?" I said "sure". $40; two nights, in a clean, cozy, safe and relaxing little spot. What more could you ask for? If you're looking for glamour or big, elegant courtyards or verandas, those hotels are around, for six or seven times the price, but if small, clean, welcoming, and modest is all you need, this is the place for you. Literally two blocks from tje main market, including the fabulous Mercado Artisan, where you'll find EVERY beautiful Guatemalan handcraft available, and maybe five short blocks to the central square. Lord willing, I will be back soon, and Hospedaje El Viajero will be where I stay!

We stayed at Hospedaje El Viajero because it was getting late on my way up the lake. They were willing to accommodate me very last minute, and the room was perfect. It had a good size, not very big, but great for just me and my partner. The bathroom was clean and small but adequate. They provided free drinking water, and our room had a patio with tables and chairs, offering a nice view of another restaurant and music. It's a budget hotel, so don't expect anything fancy, but it was a great price with great staff and a great location. It was a really nice and cozy stay.

This is a little gem of a place off Calle Santander. The rooms are simple and comfortable., the bathrooms have hot showers and toilet seats! ( If you've traveled throughout Guatemala, YOU KNOW -lol). There's free coffee, tea, and water, a mini fridge for all to use and it's in a great location. The little garden area is nice and staff super friendly. The parrot loves to greet everyone ... and gallo wakes you early (lol). The walls are thin and one night the room next door was pretty obnoxious and up LATE, but overall a great stay at a great price. It's super convenient to everything.

The truth is that I don't understand and I'm very surprised by the bad comments! It's an excellent option in Panajachel, at least in my experience. It's in the very heart of Santander Street, literally a few minutes walk from EVERYTHING. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, it has a Smart TV and the girls at the reception are super friendly :) they keep your bags while you leave on the day of your checkout. It has a very nice garden and terrace. Very grateful for the blackout curtains🙌🏽. Only observation: the housekeeper smelled a lot like humidity, like musty. From then on and despite that, it's an excellent option, I would stay again!! Also, there's a grumpy parakeet and kittens!!! I miss it!

Worst accommodation!!! Not recommended!!! The bathroom walls were completely covered in mold, so that towels and everything in there smelled of it. The smell was so intense that we had to keep opening the door. Luckily we only booked 2 nights. The staff were very nice and they couldn't do anything about the condition of the rooms.
