Courtyard Palm Springs

My wife and I came here for one night. Good location, clean facilities, nice bed, you're in Palm Springs so it should be all cocktails and smooth sailing. But there were too many negatives for me to recommend staying here. We ran into a number of issues, particularly with trying to work from the hotel and honestly from the staff too. Let me elaborate. We both needed to get quite a bit of work done during our stay, so we asked about the 24-hour stay perk in order to meet some deadlines before checking out (my wife is a Platinum Elite member and the 24-hour time shift is supposedly one of the offerings). They said we couldn't do that because the hotel was fully booked. Understandable and unfortunately unavoidable, especially if someone else was checking into our room. That's all fair. BUT. And here's the big BUT -- they also didn't try to help us at all (and worse, see below). No offering to move us to an open room for a bit, or let us setup in any empty conference room, or anything whatsoever. Just tough cookies. And we were very clear about just needing somewhere to work for a few hours. This leaves much to be desired, but isn't cause enough to down vote this hotel. Alas, my dear TripAdvisor friends, there's more. I asked about some kind of business center or other location to sit with a laptop, but they responded as if no one had ever dare ask something so outrageous. Ok. Weird. But again not a deal-breaker. THEN -- when our checkout time arrived and we were finishing packing our bags -- housekeeping came into the room, without masks on, while we were still in it and started cleaning up! I should have asked them if they would be packing my bags, as well. And we were not more than 5 minutes over the checkout time. That is a deal-breaker for me. I don't expect a hotel to bend over backwards to accommodate me. But at least let me step one foot outside the room before you begin vacuuming over my shoe. Geez. At the Courtyard, you do have to go and you do have to get the hell out of here.

Desert Isle of Palm Springs

First off, I must mention that pictures of this place on many booking engines, etc are out of date as it seems all rooms have been renovated. Our One Bedroom unit was immaculate, definitely renovated in the recent past and everything was neat and clean; matching the unit pictures on their own website. We had a nice patio with table/chairs, lounge chairs, grill, and a gorgeous view of the mountains. The resort grounds are also beautiful and well maintained. The property itself is nice, quiet, and laid back. We barely saw a few others during our stay and had the pools and hot tubs to ourselves any time we ventured over to them. The location was perfect for us with plenty within close range and right off of Palm Canyon drive for easy access anywhere. The office staff were all very friendly and they were extremely helpful during check-in. Overall we'd highly recommend this place and would definitely choose to stay here again in the future if we return to Palm Springs.

My children loved it and were super impressed with the room, the pool being open during the pandemic was such a relief to a parent that traveled alone. Overall, had a great experience and staff was very helpful and friendly!!

This hotel is near the downtown area but a bit away so you feel like you are at a beautiful resort. We arrived before 11am and they offer us the option of being upgraded to a Jr Suite now or wait for a room on a higher floor. Since I was traveling with my grandson, we took the suite. The lobby restaurant has board games which were perfect. The restaurant did not open until 11am so we sat down and played one of the games. Mat came over and explained that we could order at 11am (it was 10:30). He brought us water and checked on us saying it would not be much longer. The service was excellent throughout the hotel. We were there for three days and enjoyed every minute of our time there.

Place is ok. The tv in the sitting room didn’t work which was disappointing. The biggest issue was the cockroaches. There were two in the kitchen and one coming out the drain in the bathroom. Disgusting. We were on the third floor so I’m assuming it’s an issue with the entire hotel. I told the front desk person on checkout who said he would tell the manager: “translation…nothing will happen.”
Avance Hotel

My wife and I returned to the Avance Hotel this past February. We stayed there a the year before in February, and really loved it both times, It is a 1950's era one story hotel that has been completely modernized. The 7 units surround a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a very nice pool and hot tub. The staff is very sweet and helpful. We enjoy their breakfast, which is a more than just a convenience breakfast. Because of the limited number of rooms, Avance makes for a quiet, peaceful retreat, perfect for couples, or single people who need solitude. The nearby mountains are great for hiking, and so are the shop-filled town streets. We will definitely return!
