Lucille Palm Springs

The Lucille is perfect! What makes the resort so special is the staff. Alfredo is so welcoming and always interested in making the experience the best. Ross is fun, kind, efficient and makes a wonderful banana bread. We have stayed here for the last 4 years. An unexpected bonus for this year is Torin who makes an excellent fruit and cheese platter pool side and keeps the grounds immaculate. We expect to enjoy The Lucille for many years.

Lucille exceeded our expectations and four nights was not enough! We were greeted by Ross K, who took care of us throughout our stay. (We highly recommend trying "The Ross", the name we assigned to the fabulous fresh-squeezed grapefruit drink Ross made us daily). We felt at home in a setting that was tucked away, yet central to anything you could want in PS. Hiking, shops and restaurants were so close by that we didn't bother renting a car. The room was beautifully appointed. Breakfast was delicious (try Ross' banana bread!). We can't wait to return one day. We noticed most guests were eager to rebook as they were checking out, so plan early!

Where to begin: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The property is gorgeous. We were meeting friends for dinner and had them come by to chat before dinner. We sat around one of the outdoor fire pits and had a great time. Our friends were amaze at how lovely the property was. The room was great, too. Every comfort you could want. We wouldn't hesitate for a second to stay here again if we return to Palm S;rings.

Private, small resort close to town. We spent 2 nights here in the Ocotillo studio and really enjoyed it. Our room had a tiny private courtyard, which extended the outdoors in, since you could leave the door open, but still have full privacy. A fridge and microwave had us camped out in the room all day just relaxing. Beautiful landscaping, stylish rooms, quiet but friendly guests and staff. Small, lush, lounging nooks throughout the property. Many pictures here on TA are pre renovation, and its got a clean, fresh look, while maintaining the mediterranean style. Easy walk to town, but once behind the gate at Lucille it feels like you're in a private oasis. Definitely on the quiet side, probably not for the tequila shots poolside crowd. The only downside was the Ocotillo Studio has a second story with another room on top, which we could hear the upstairs guests walking, showering, scraping chairs on their balcony, etc. but to be expected in a hotel. Might try one of the larger rooms next time, which were one story, to avoid this. We will definitely return.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! So much so, I’m writing this review as we are currently checking out. We stayed at the Prickly Pear bungalow! Where to even begin? The property is newly renovated and absolutely stunning. With only about 9 rooms available, this is the perfect spot to stay if you prefer a much more quiet and intimate getaway. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the room and space overall. Complimentary breakfast is also served in the mornings! What really made our stay was the great service they offered. Ross made the best tequila sunrise (maybe a little too good), he came out and offered a complimentary drink in the afternoons. His personality and kindness stood out to us. We stayed during peak heat weather, up to 120 degrees, and Ross still had such a wonderful demeanor. We loved our stay and highly recommend this location!

The Lucille Palm Springs is a lovely Spanish style retro boutique hotel in downtown Palm Springs. It was originally built in 1921 and retains its original charm while totally renovating last year. The new owner has spared no expense in making sure everything is perfect for your stay. I had some concerns about the few reviews but a 9-unit hotel can’t have very many reviews in a year unlike the 900 room hotels. If you prefer the mega hotels, go elsewhere. But, if you (like us) prefer a small, comfortable, intimate, boutique resort, this is your ideal hotel. It is extremely clean and up to date with a very friendly and helpful staff. The continental breakfast by the pool is quite enjoyable. The main part of town is only a few blocks away making shopping and eating out very convenient. Next time we visit Palm Springs we will definitely be staying at the Lucille.
