Desert Lodge

Last minute booking so I wasn’t looking for anything too terribly expensive. Ended up settling here which was a mistake. Checked in late so they put me in the back of the property and made my way up the stairs and down the hall having to maneuver through people drinking and smoking. Arrived to the room and was overcome with an unusual smell that is used to clean the room. Bed was uncomfortable and no soap in the bathroom. The unruly neighbors continued to have their way outside the hall most of the night. I woke up the next morning and they were still going strong. Maybe 6-7 people spilling out of that room alone. Overall, the property is in a terrible condition. Probably one of my worst choices in bookings I have ever made. I love Palm Springs but no way will this even be a consideration ever again. Be warned… stay away from this place!

Terribly run-down old motel with questionable tenants (maybe some by the week?). 1/2 bathroom window replaced with plastic, not glass, air blows through. Bathtub faucet wouldn't divert to shower. Bathroom sink faucet so loose I was nervous using it for fear it would just blow up from pressure (funny, water pressure in the Desert was incredibly good). Ceiling has had multiple leaks from 2nd floor, never patched or painted. We did have new curtains, good A.C., clean sheets (no bed bugs) and a working lock on the door, so I guess I could count my blessings.

Though it seems as if they clean the rooms well, the hotel is pretty run down. Bathroom door had no door knob and instead had a towel shoved in the hole where the knob belonged. Also wouldn’t close properly. Felt a bit unsafe seeing the kind of guests that stay there. Then again with those very low prices, you get what you pay for.

Pictures online are deceiving. The sheets were dirty and it had broken windows. I went with my children for a cheer competition and it was full of homeless people. The room was in poor conditions. Never going back.

Room had never been cleaned, ever. Mold, stains, food in the drawers, hair clumps of many different colors clumped in different places of the bed, within the sheets. The tumble ****s of hairs had ‘crumbs’. Flooring peeled up, toilet paper shoved in the crack of the connecting room. Cords dangling. Everything dusty. Less than a 20 sheets on the toilet paper roll. Make up stains on the wash clothes and hairs, stains on the towel. Chairs and bedding and anything else in this room was filthy. My boyfriend and I did not stay the night here, we did not feel safe or comfortable enough to even lay in the bed fully clothed. One bed rolled away from the wall. Mattress covered in piss stains and brown stains. Floor had dirt, sand and who knows what else every where. Even the soap unopened had soap residue on it. We left after 10 minutes max. Non refundable. Didn’t even get the room we prepaid for. And we called in advance to confirm the availability. Either way. Not worth it. Please save yourself. I took lots of pictures of the horror before my eyes. Did not stay long enough to watch any cockroaches or mice. But behind the building is a lot of broken and disgusting mattresses. Don’t do it! Cheap is not everything! There is a reason. Safety comes first

Room was filthy. The bathtub was clogged and water would not drain. Toilet had a noisy leak all night. Told the hotel manager but he said he just got the property. We needed a place to sleep for our children so we stayed that night after a late check in, but we checked out early next morning and demanded a refund for the night we did not stay. They refused.

Cool little vintage motel just south of downtown Palm Springs. Great location, it has a pool. You get what you pay for, the property could use a little tlc The towels were not adequate. I had to buy my own towels at Walmart. The staff is friendly enough. This place is good if you just need a place to crash for the evening. On the bright side, it’s down the street from Elmers café, which has the best brunch in town.

Where do start?!?! Room had wall holes that were patched but not painted, shower stall floor was dirty (wear sandals!), dirty floors, maid left her cleaning supplies in bathroom…. Never again
