The V Powered by Sonder

You might as well stay at Motel 6. Actually, motel 6 is better. Pretentious place. Old installations, not too clean. In the middle of the night our ceiling started having a HEAVY leak. At one point 3 different drops were falling, and the water fell on my luggage. We had to change rooms past midnight, they assigned us rooms in another building, there were no elevators, so we had to carry our bags without help down and up the stairs. When we made it to our new room, the code didn't work! I chatted with the service people at the app and they kept playing games asking for information they already had asked before. Finally they sent a person who actually was helpful, but it took nearly half an hour and they couldn't fix the issue and ended up giving me a physical key. To make things worse, the app kept erroring out on me and I had to start the conversation again, yet another time with the service representatives. Instead of apologizing for the state of disrepair of the hotel and the terrible tech behind it (really, if you are going to have a hotel like this with basically no personnel on the premises, your app should be WAY better), they kept saying that they were sorry that I felt that way. No, it's not about my feelings, it's about your dirty, old installations and buggy app. At least the person they sent was helpful in the end, after we spent a very long time outside of the new room, until our hands got numb. Bonus: there is silicon lube on the floor of our new room. Really, avoid at all costs. This place deserves to go out of business.

Music by the pool turned on too early and loud in the morning. Some banging noise going on all through the middle of the night. Otherwise all good.

Nice and clean, love the vibe. In the room the lighting wasn’t good for getting ready, the mirror in the restroom was small. The water in the shower didn’t get pass luke warm. I was told in the morning when checking out that we needed to give it 10-15 to warm up. This information would’ve been helpful when we checked in. Good thing we were just there for the night and heading home after checkout. And no phone in the room or else I would’ve made a quick call to the front desk.

Front desk seemed bothered to check us in, couldn't properly tell us how to find out room, was a pretty weird interaction, especially since we stay at hotels all over and aren't new to this. Room wasn't worth the price we paid at all. Had the feel of a mobile home park.

The staff was amazing. I went on a solo trip and had a great time at Gigi's while I was there. I'm blanking on the bartender's name but he was very kind and gave me some great recommendations around town. It's a very convenient location to hiking trails, and downtown. I will mention the room I stayed in was comfortable and clean but definitely had some noticeable wear. But overall I was very happy with the stay.

Water didn’t heat in the room. Often took 30-45 minutes for it to heat up. Room was clean and comfortable.

Always a great stay, have stayed at the V before. This was the first time staying after the hotel no longer being partnered with sonder. Still had an amazing trip. However bed felt a bit lumpy that I remember. Besides that everything is great, parking is easy, rooms are clean, hotel is nice, the heated pool is our favorite.

It seems like a recently upgraded hotel, I like the location and the boutique hotel vibe they are trying to portray. Front desk staff was not the friendliest. Great family and separate adult pool area. Great hip in-house restaurant named gigis. No phone in the rooms but all rooms have pool vibes.
