Ionian Sea Hotel Villas & Aqua Park

This hotel has a 4 star rating sign on the front door - it's NOT a 4 star hotel. The best way to describe this is : a little warn and where the owner wants to scrimp and save every penny (cent) they can buy provided the bare basics they can get away with and charge as much as possible for extras. Yes it's a Greek hotel and standards will Not be the same as the uk etc, but there were some issues: Room Not very well cleaned, not sure the cleaner knew what a mop or cloth was. The food was the same every day . The drink is local drink but of the lowest standard you can get. Only 1 bar open despite the hotel listing stating the garden bar opened 1st May but it was not open a month later . The water park is part of the hotel and JET2 listing states get a drink from the garden bar (closed) and take it with you. Yet the hotel try to stop this . Why because they want money. The hotel is in a remote location - the only way into town is via taxi . The hotel tried to charge people 5euro to book a taxi . A 10 sec call . The only good thing was the pool - until a light fell out - the staff did nothing until a kid cut his door open a hour later and then the hotel charged the family 200 euro for calling out the doctor - 200 euro for neglect.

No possibility of renting pool towels, forcing you to buy a towel in the hotel shop. The water in the restaurant tastes like pool water with chlorine. Breakfast is a disaster, there is no selection at all, not even of bread. No possibility of paying by card and no ATM nearby. In the hotel shop, they add a tax for card payments. In the water park, the bar is paid even though it is still on hotel grounds, and there is not even free water for children. At the entrance to the restaurant, they check you as if you were going to steal food and run away. In the room, there is a small kettle, but no tea, coffee, or anything else. Upon arrival, there is no possibility of eating anything; old rolls in the fridge. In the bathroom, there is no liquid soap or shampoo, only bar soap. Billiards costs €5 on hotel grounds and is cash-only. The key to the safe is non-refundable and cash-only.

Booked a last minute holiday flew out on May the 1st with aunt. Had to get the ⛴️ across which was so nice even though it was evening. All I can say is we had the most fabulous week. It wasn’t full so really relaxing. Room was really nice. Daily changed by lovely ladies. Food was really nice. We were lucky yo be there for the Greek Easter & the lamb was amazing. Lovely pools great little water park. Very friendly staff. Everything was kept so clean. The local beach really isn’t the best but if you turn right out of the gate behind the water park there’s a nice stroll with amazing views & a local fisherman who was so sweet. We did walk took about 30 mins to a beach which was nice no one there but very early season which suited us for our needs. We met some great people there. We shared taxi’s to go into Lixouri & got the ⛴️ over uk Argostoli for a lovely afternoon out. The crossing is only 25 mins but you don’t notice & only €3. The views are absolutely stunning. Taxi is €15 each way. We got a great deal & exceeded our expectations completely. Will definitely be thinking of going again next may. Would like to hire a car for a couple of days though to visit Myrtos beach & some others. Absolutely fell in love with this stunning 🏝️ The weather was fabulous all week apart from just the 1st day started off ☀️ then had a little bit of 🌧️ but soon got ☀️ again. Such a lovely place quiet & yes maybe out the way but suited us perfectly. I definitely suggest going early in the season if you want a nice relaxing chilled holiday. There wasn’t any entertainment but we didn’t need it as we had so much laughter every night by the pool bar. I did enjoy the water park as well big kid at ❤️ I am lol

Lynne, Amanda and others who have rated Low. I know it is just your opinion, and you are entitled to that! But, I believe you are Way out of Line ! This is a very good middle of the road 3.5 star hotel. The staff, accommodation, cleanliness, are Excellent. The food do ok, far better than adequate. What on earth do you expect? It is not pretentious. You knew (or should have known) it is way out in the country. It is Only 1.75 hours lovely walk to town. There are lots of interesting beaches and villages to visit. Has the makings of an excellent holiday. You have to try! If you want town luxury, then go to a town and Pay for it ! Well done Ionian Sea…. Just what we wanted ! ,

I have mixed thoughts on this hotel. We arrived late check in was fast and was shown to our room - the room was clean but very basic and small so I popped back down to reception to ask if we could upgrade and it was €120 more but I didn’t mind as I really wasn’t happy with the room we currently was in The next morning we upgraded to a maisonette these are far more spacious and modern and we was more than happy with this. The food is just ok I wouldn’t go as far as some reviews to say it’s terrible because in my opinion it’s not it’s just ok and I think some people forget this is a 3 star not a 5. However food was always luke warm. The drinks were terrible! Something needs to be done about this as they were un drinkable. Everyone we spoke to were moaning about how awful the drinks tasted and people were buying their own drink from the town. We always bought bottles of water which were €0.80 a bottle. I had stomach cramps the last 2 nights and people did who asked did wonder if it was the drinks! The snack bar is just none existent to be honest. Ham and cheese sandwiches that were left all day not covered up and the bread was always rock hard! This is more a less alls they had on and I’ve never been to a hotel what has just that on a snack bar all inclusive. We had entertainment on our last night as some ladies had complained that we didn’t have any on at all, all week! And as the hotel is so remote this just doesn’t work for people. The trip into Lixouri town is a €30 round trip and if you want to go down daily because there’s no entertainment and your food and drink isn’t great then this becomes very expensive!! The ferry is €3pp each way and on a gorgeous sunny day the views are breathtaking. We luckily met a great group of people and sat together at night having a good natter and a laugh so this was pretty much our entertainment! The pool areas are always clean and the gardens and hotel are kept to a good standard. I’m unsure if I would return to be honest. Just because of how remote the hotel is. If the hotel got a free bus for guests down to the town and the drinks and snack bar were improved then I would go back. But see for yourselves!

This is an Excellent mid-market offering, Food and facilities are good + . The place is very clean. Realy all you could expect and more.. So far vey very pleased. The staff are most accommodating and helpful. A follow up review will probably exceed this. Any reviews making adverse comments clearly have little understanding of what to expect. This is a very well managed enterprise.

I appreciate everyone has different expectations but if you read the negative reviews on here I would ignore them. This is a great place to stay, staff are kind and helpful, rooms are exactly what you need considering you will only sleep there..clean! Food is varied each day but you will always find something to eat. Pools and aqua park are again clean and popular. We arrived just after dinner service had finished but they kept it warm and open for us to grab a bite after a long day of travel, if you arrive late there are also some snacks and water waiting for you. Yes it’s a bit remote but everything you need is in the hotel.

Well quite honestly I don’t know where to start. We arrived lunch time on the 2May to a very friendly man behind reception who took us to the restaurant for some lunch before we checked in . We should have known from that moment what our 1week stay was going to be like. To summarise the whole experience was Terrible. This is not a 4star hotel in fact 2 stars would be doing them a favour. The food was dreadful, the drinks were undrinkable because they hadn’t cleaned the pipes properly and residents were buying their own after a 30 euro taxis ride to the nearest supermarket.The rooms beyond basic for a 4star hotel. We had to drink out of plastic glasses, no towels for the pool or loungers, in fact no luxury what so ever. Do believe what you see in the pictures or read . NONE OF THIS IS TRUE.

I went here with my wife last September enjoyed it so much I've booked again for May! Was pleasantly surprised last year after booking as a last minute getaway. The food was really nice and the service from the hotel staff was really welcoming, nothing was too much for them. Really enjoyed the warm welcome in the restaurant for every single meal. We really enjoyed getting out and exploring the peninsula, some of the scenery was absolutely breath-taking. The rooms are very spacious and were kept spotless. We booked with Jet2holidays last year and have done the same again!
