I am a university professor and was visiting Kefalonia for conference. We made this reservation way in advance. Upon check in, they told us that there was a plumbing issue in a block, and that unfortunately they can’t give us a room. First night they moved us to another hotel that was 10 mins drive from Argile (where the conference was happening). The room was extremely dirty and we had a terrible night. The day after they moved us to a near by villa which was half price of Argile and we stayed there for the rest of our stay. The whole thing was a horrible experience, especially that I had paid the surge price for this room. Avoid Argile by all means. My friend was staying in Apollonian and it was much better at a lower price — and definitely they don’t treat their customers like this.

Value for money, Friendly staff so willing to assist you to make your stay more comfortable. Super clean rooms, and a fabulous selection of food to eat from morning to evening. Small gym with lots of machines to exercise. Relaxing beds to sunbathe, great pool, fun pool for the little ones. Minutes away from Xi Beach. Not the best-tasting wine on the all-inclusive deal, nut easy to drink. Cool beer on tap, pool bar with snacks. Cocktails are not very nice! It would be nice for the hotel to provide a shuttle bus into Lixouri. Apart from my small points regarding drinks, I would highly recommend staying here. Very relaxing and only 2 Euro's on the local bus into town, 3 Euro's on the ferry to Argustoli. Where you can catch local buses all over the island. I will be recommending the Argile to all my travel customers. Julie

This hotel really does not deserve some of the negative reviews that I have read. We have just returned home following a wonderful, relaxing week at the Argile. The hotel is a 5 minute stroll to Xi beach. It really isn’t the hotel’s fault that the beach itself is now covered by the sea! That’s nature for you. There are some fantastic bars (Baywatch) where you can sit and watch the sunset. Bliss. The food at the hotel was fantastic with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and very helpful and the rooms were clean and functional. The pool area has ample (very comfortable) sun beds with decent coffee from the self serve machines. The perfect place if you want to recharge your batteries and escape life’s chaos. Well done ARGILE HOTEL. ❤️🇬🇷

No welcome or information given at Reception. The hotel and the room was very clean and good housekeeping. No spa in the hotel. If you wanted a massage you booked it at Reception and had your massage in a tent near the beach. Had to pay a hotel registration fee, had to leave a deposit for towels and had to pay 10 Euros for a sunbed on the beach. Food was very bland and repetitive with NO allergy labelling. They put the same gluten free bread out every day until it was green!

On arrival at the hotel the check in experience was disappointing. We were not provided with any information on how the hotel operated e.g towel’s operation of safe restaurants etc. There was also no information in the room. The room was good. Had air con and a fan. No instructions on how to operate the safe which we had to ask for at reception. Found out towels can be rented at 5 euros each which is refundable when checking out. All hotel areas very clean. Great swimming pool. Restaurant and bar staff excellent. Quality of all inclusive drinks very poor except for the beer. Sun beds good but shade not fit for purpose. Couple of restaurants nearby. Beach also close. Breakfast buffet good. Lunch and evening buffet not so good except for the salad. No fresh carved meat. All canteen style food. No other restaurants to change things up. Had the initial check in been better and more communication and information been available would have rated 4 stars.

Nice hotel, the air conditioning is functional, the selection of meals sufficient. pita gyros is served in the afternoon. Hotel is not such a luxury than other hotels, but staff is nice. Nice sandy beach Mega lakos is 5 minuts of walk. Xi beach is almost gone...

Just had 10 days at this hotel, and it wasn't the kind of hotel we were used to. THE ROOM Room was nice (recently refurbished) Although we had no drawers for clothes and only 5 hangers in the wardrobe , comfort wise ,the beds were very very comfortable. No room instructions on how to use the safe, no guide for telephone number's for reception etc, or any other information folders about places of interest etc. Room was cleaned every day. SNACK BAR Drinks bar was okay for beers and other local drinks, be aware the soft drinks from the self serve ( not branded) Rola Cola, and orange looking fizzy water) definitely stay away from the lemon and lime drinks, (the smell reminded me of a toilet cleaner) I could have a white Rum,but if I wanted dark rum there's a charge at the top bar, ( oh and they ran out of gin one night) Cocktails were also chargeable at the top bar. Although it's all inclusive service you're expected to pay for drinks after 11:00 at night and other branded drinks and speciality drinks like iced coffees. My biggest challenge at the snack bar was trying to get the Guy that served the Gyros to smile, the Gyros was small ,pork ,small dollop of sauce ,1 piece of tomato, and a sprinkling of onion or you could have a slice of cold pizza if available . EVENING MEAL Dining room is all over the place ,no meet and greet, different foods scattered throughout the trays, no tables were set, get yourself a knife and fork, get your dinner, own drinks and then find yourself a table, no assistance at all, just staff there to clear tables, most nights between 7.30 and 8.30 it was manic, although I can say the food was excellent, not repetitive at all with a good amount of choice. WIFI The WiFi throughout the hotel is usually hit and miss, didn't work very well around the pool and snack bar. GUESTS Be aware, very few English at this hotel during our stay and that's something the rep says they're looking to improve on in the future, While we were here, we felt isolated with only 6 rooms occupied by English out of the 195 rooms the hotel has, Its predominantly Eastern European guests who were there usual ignorant self (bear in mind) this hotel is mainly geared up for those guests. POOLS Pool side the sun loungers and makeshift parasols had seen better days (see photo) by the large pool with no lifeguard on dedicated duty, he spends most the time walking round clearing tables and sunbeds then back to the pool bar to help serve drinks. The children's water park section never got cleaned whilst we were here, with dead insects and bits of sand littered some areas. Very little in the way of daytime activities, I witnessed aqua aerobics and water polo a few times. ENTERTAINMENT No Adult entertainment at night except on Tuesday when it's Greek night although the kids have a mini disco from about 8:30 by the snack bar every night. The Animation team wasn't geared up for the English, they only appeared twice a day (once for the morning and afternoon da

A really lovely hotel, perfect for families. - Rooms are clean and modern and cleaned every day - Food is great, lots of choice and the staff in the restaurant are brilliant - The pools are brilliant. Slides are fun and the staff around the pool area are great - The beach bar area is fabulous and the staff here were so kind and friendly. We loved this area and the beach bar manager made our holiday. Thank you. - The beach area is a little sad and there is a struggle with erosion - we still enjoyed paddle boats and sea swimming each morning - We needed a late checkout and this was provided without any issue - so grateful to the reception team for this, it meant the world to us - Beers and gin and tonic were fab, Prosecco at Beach Bar lovely just a shame the other wines weren’t better and a nicer cocktail menu would have been good as the ones on the all inclusive were pre mixed and not the best. We really hope to be back again. We loved our stay and will miss the hotel. It’s felt like home.

Just got back from a really lovely holiday here, much better than expected. Rooms were really modern and immaculately kept as is the whole hotel. Food was excellent all week and plenty of it, staff were excellent. Particularly a lady called Popi that helped us above and beyond with making everything so good.
