Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff I recommend motel stay again and again. The rooms were outdated but everything was clean. The beds were comfortable and the owner and staff were very courteous and kind. Parked our truck and trailer with a vehicle on it all night and it was undisturbed. The internet was slow, but not a big deal. In front of a gas station so easy to gas up before calling it a night or bright and early in the morning.

The Rest Inn in Palestine, AR. Nice motel, big room, clean and quiet. It is such a pleasure to find a pride of ownership motel in this day of chains and not nice managers. Quiet air conditioner and an office char for the desk. I don't need 200 characters.

The desk clerk wanted to charge me an extra $10 for a non-smoking room even though it was the same price online and a room available and it late and unlikely to be needed. Because the room was non-refundable, he took advantage of the situation and wouldn't budge. I told him that I would inform *********** and write a bad review. He ended up refusing to even give me the smoking room! I said that I'd call the police feeling that in essence I was being robbed. He said go ahead. After, I was talking the police, he decided to give me the rm. As I waited for the police, I decided I wouldn't feel safe staying there as a single female. The policeman understood why I felt that way. There's more to this but this is the basics. Just know this place is NOT to be trusted!

For $65 you get a fridge, coffeemaker and a decent mattress. Room was clean, and fairly quiet in spite of nearby truck gas stops. Took a chance after passing on cheaper options in Forrest City (dirty, bugs, etc.). If you want budget, don't think you could do better in that area! Definitely 5 stars in this price category.
