Charming Hostel
The room was perfectly acceptable in this hostel and the hostel is right on one of the nicest beaches in the area.
Luxury and bellmen offering drinks on the beach is not what this hostel is about. Ecological offerings in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner are. Where possible the food is bio as are the interesting array of wines produced by the vineyard, which owns this hostel.
(You can buy jars of their excellent home-made
marmelade to take home.)
It is true that in our inexpensive room the shower could have been bigger and a proper shower tray would have helped stopping water on the bathroom floor.
But staff were charming and there is a free security car park among the pines at the back of the hostel.

We arrived and the table was dirty and had to request the cleaning of it... he did mediocre job. We ordered 2 x steak, a pork dish and a goats cheese salad. The steak was, at best, average and at no point were we asked how we would like it cooked. This is our second attempt here and both times are poor. We told the waiter that the steak was poor, he apologised and nothing more was said. The service was OK and the guys tried their best I feel a systemic fault within the hotel or restaurant my be th cause.....I would avoid if I were you

Wij wonen ruim 20 jaar in de regio Costa Brava en bezoeken regelmatig La Fosca, een paar kilometer van het bekenede Palamos. Het is ons nog niet gelukt om er een keer te gaan eten omdat het terras buiten meestal vol zit of gereserveerd is. Eindelijk een keer gelukt om op het terras buiten te eten. Gastronomie is in de costa brava streek ver te zoeken. Zelfs simpele dingen zoals groene sla (komt altijd uit een pakje) of frietsjes (uit de diepvries). Ook de duurdere restaurants zijn in het zelfde bedje ziek. We zijn beiden hobbykoks en vinden het steeds moeilijker om een restaurant te vinden waar je nog verse ingredienten op je bord krijgt. De ober stelde ons voor een "lubina salvaje", vrij vertaald "wilde zeebaars" te nemen, wat we ook deden. We kregen een echt verse vis op tafel welke we zelf hebben gefileerd zodat die niet te koud werd. HEEL lekker. Een bordje kraak verse groenten (niet alleen sla) en zelf gemaakte frietjes maakte dit eenvoudige etentje voor ons tot een verademing. Eenvoudig kan ook zeer lekker zijn. De ober was er fier op dat zij verse ingrediënten gebruikten. Je kan op de menukaart kiezen voor gerechten waar een B voor staat. Dit zijn dan altijd producten die vers en lokaal op tafel komen. Hopelijk is het de volgende keer weer zo lekker.....

Comida buena pero el servicio deficiente. Después de estar esperando, Hemos tenido que avisar para que nos recogieran los platos, para poder pedir los postres,… Local con aire acondicionado que no da para toda la estancia. Buena comida, recomiendo cenar en la terraza.

À fuir +++ Chambre 109: à notre arrivée : Sols sales, sable sous les lits, poussière sur l’espèce d étagère qui longe la chambre.penderie malodorante Salle d’eau exiguë , malodorante, sols souillés . Pas de possibilité de déposer la trousse de toilette ailleurs que sur les toilettes Pas de climatisation mais deux ventilateurs couverts de poussière crasseuse. Une seule table de nuit, mais pas de place pour en placer d’autres de toute façon… Pas de frigo ni dans la chambre ni dans les parties communes Nous avons tenté une nuit… et nous sommes repartis. Pas de remboursement possible évidement. Pas de retour à notre mail de réclamation . Dommage +++ car le bâtiment est idéalement situé , les personnels sont agréables, le restaurant, qui propose des produits frais, est plutôt satisfaisant.

Première semaine de juillet très bien mais le foulé demain st arrivée et en plus la commune installe 6 terrains demain volley dons plus de place sur la plage…. Du coup trop de monde en ce samedi 5 juillet 2025..
