Avoid this place. A disaster as soon as we started getting served. Waitress Wrote order down partners breakfast came back no scrambled egg. all she ordered was two links beans and egg and 1 toast they gave her 2 toast. Took my order full breakfast asked for tea served with breakfast my tea came with a dirty cup had to return it. My breakfast never came partners came well before mine hers was finished when mines arrived. Links are horrible produce the black pudding and haggis just mushy. Asked for no tomatoes came with tomatoes. Anyway went to pay was asked if breakfast was ok lol I replied was ok.The waitress had a face like a chewed wasp and slammed the till shut. It’s not my fault you provided a bad service is it I think you need some serious customer training with the attitude and to correctly take note of what the customer orders. Thx for a bad service certainly will not be near there again that’s for sure.

Arrived at 10.30 for breakfast on a Sunday morning with 3 friends. We were told to sit whenever we liked. We struggled to find a table that was clean. Most had crumbs on the seat and tables not wiped. We sat for 15 mins before we had to approach staff to get a drink. We ordered our hot drinks which arrived pretty quickly. We then requested to order food. A member of staff came over to inform me that there were no pancakes available. This was 30 mins after taking our order!! I ordered an alternative. After waiting a further 30 mins we asked the staff what the hold up was, as surely it doesn't take 60 mins to make a breakfast. We were informed that 2 chefs had not turned up to work so the chef was "swamped". Had this been communicated initially in the first instance we perhaps would have been more understanding. Our food finally arrived with an apology...and also items missing. Overall service was really poor and this really lead to a very disappointing experience. We won't return.

Went for my sisters 40th with family, table was booked for 16 people, staff were rude and place was a tip, table dirty asked them to clean it and they wiped half the table. Waited 1 hour 30 minutes for food and the food was terrible and cold. All food got left. Don’t go here if you want a nice dinner.

Delicious lunch in the main restaurant. At the time we went we could still use breakfast menu, also main menu and festive menu. Felt prices were very reasonable for the lovely food we got, in particular the kids prices were great, around £5 per meal. Service was lovely and didn't wait long for food and it was hot and fresh. Will definately be back soon, a lovely place for a family meal.

My wife and I checked in early before spending time with our son and his family who live a few miles away. The room looked nice although the toilet did smell of sewage so we left the extractor fan on. We returned at 11.00 to a crowded entrance and stairway and a loud disco/party in full swing. The receptionist said it should quieten down around 12.30am. We went to our room where the noise level was so high we immediately left. No staff could be located so we left our key and departed. We tried to call later to no avail. We have since asked for a refund but the manager has not responded to this request.

It was a bit confusing with the booking because they have changed the name to Mills and Brae We have stayed there on several occasions and cannot really fault them We realise it is not a 5 star hotel but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice The staff are friendly and very helpful Colin was absolutely wonderful We had dinner which was very tasty and the breakfast was just what we needed Thank you to all the staff

Myself, my mum and my son went in for food on Sunday and for me, I won’t be back. Mum and son ordered the food at the bar and mum requested the drinks asap as mum and I were parched. But our meals came before our drinks, mum actually had to ask for them again. Mum had steak pie which was lovely although her carrots were a bit undercooked for mum but my son took a bit and he thought they were fine. My son got macaroni cheese and again no complaints. I ordered a baked potato with tuna and red onion and it looked lovely so I put my red onion on my tuna and mixed it through x took a wee bite and potato was the same temperature as the tuna so scraped the tuna aside and took a bit of potato off the bottom and it was cold x mum took it back up, waitress asked if I wanted it heated up or a fresh one made, and said no heat it up it’s fine. She brought it back with the the tuna in a tiny wee side dish with I would guess half the amount from the first time but it was ok and was told it was the tuna that made the potato cold 🙄 what they didn’t know is I worked in the food industry for many many years and that was blooming nonsense, don’t make silly excuses when it’s easier to just admit it was cold and not zapped in the microwave long enough. Staff were lovely and on the go constantly, decor was beautiful and bathroom was clean and fresh but would I go back no I probably wouldn’t.
