The hotel is good but the bistro attached is shockingly bad - over cooked, burnt garlic bread, over cooked steak, cremated chips. The waitress/manageress was sweet but clearly under pressure - much shouting was heard from the chef. I would drive 30 miles to avoid eating here again. If its not part of the hotel then it should be branded with a separate name. Truly awful.

Lovely B&B situated in a beautiful little town. Beautifully decorated individually themed rooms which are very comfortable and quiet. I regularly stay here so have stayed in most of the rooms now. The breakfast is outstanding and in the evenings the bistro is open. The food is delicious and there is a good choice of options on the menu.

My husband and I spent out honeymoon here and had a wonderful time. The breakfast was outstanding (and you get to take away what you cannot finish!), the Indian room was so lovely (with a fantastic view of the church), and we had everything we needed every day. We will definitely be back!

Lovely hotel in middle of picture postcard village. Beautifully designed, super comfortable rooms with luxury bedding. Coffee, bottled water, fruit and chocolate supplied. Breakfast is an assor**ent of cold treats, fresh and tasty, no full English. Super lovely staff.

A one night stay in Rococo room, absolutely comfortable bed with down pillows that ensured a good nights sleep. A note by the door explained how to access the room via key box which is at the back of the quirky and interesting restaurant. Pleased with the room which is so individual and such a change from the chain hotels with their formulaic style. Everyone so friendly and the chef patron and his charming wife made us feel relaxed and welcomed. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful breakfast. Cooked meats, cheese, fruits fresh orange and beautiful pasties and bread, yoghurt and even cake! The lovely lady serving breakfast brought out the warm pastries in a cardboard box encouraged us to pack up what we couldn't eat and take it with us. It made a great lunch and wasn't wasted. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Stayed for a mid week break in the Indian Room, bathroom had underfloor heating and plenty of towels and toiletries provided. Good tea and coffee provisions in the room too. Would have expected a king size bed rather than a double bed. Lovely view of the church grounds. Bit of a nigh**are to park as none provided at the premises. Strange instructions as to how to enter the property and covid overkill rules and regs, bearing in mind we are getting back to normal now. I would have given a higher rating but there was a lack of personal contact with the owner

Great place to stay lovely and quiet . Nice rooms friendly staff. Lovely quaint village . Great if you like walking etc, otherwise not a lot to do there . They have great a restaurant which I would highly recommend. Free car parking just a couple of minutes away.

We had a wonderful stay at St Michael’s. The room was beautiful and spotless, with a lovely shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious and large, even though we had a long walk ahead! The hostess was lovely, we would definitely recommend!
