From the moment we met Brita and Heinz, the owners of Allegra House, we immediately felt at home. The Allegra House is not only special because of where it's situated, the spacious rooms, the incredibly beautiful views of the Bay of Islands, but because the hosts are simply the best we have encountered. They are a super team, who knows how to make your stay very special. The breakfasts are by far the best we had in New Zealand. The room we had had a huge terrasse with a view we never got tired of. I wanted to stay there and continue enjoying being pampered by Brita and Heinz. This was an incredible introduction to New Zealand and we thank them for that.

We had a fabulous three night stay at Allegra House in the one bedroom apartment. Heinz and Brita were fabulous hosts who made us feel so welcome. The apartment was perfect with stunning views across the bay. Everything was beautifully presented and very clean. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here recently as part of a big month long trip and would thoroughly recommend it as a base for exploring the Bay of Islands - we stayed in the top suite which has a lovely balcony so you can properly enjoy the glorious views - the room has a nice shower room and a fridge which is always useful if you get . The hosts Brita and Heinz are very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and provide plenty of leaflets of things to do and places to go. Breakfast was excellent - lots of variety with lovely fresh fruit but prepare to incur the wrath of Heinz if you want his homemade fresh bread toasted 😉🤣. The property has plenty of parking available - please bear in mind it is at the top of hill so be prepared for the walk back if you leave the car when going out for dinner ( have a few drinks - you wont notice it so much 😊) If we are ever back in the Bay of Islands we would not hesitate to stay here again

A most wonderful stay! Brita and Heinz are incredible hosts. They made us feel right at home. The location is excellent... walking distance to town, yet up on a hill that provides killer views of the harbor and Bay of Islands. The breakfasts were delicious. Everything about the visit was just perfect!

Wonderful stay in an amazing location. We were lucky to have the top floor with spectacular views. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was superb. Better in sun but such an amazing view to wake up to. Definitely recommend it.

Heinz & Brita could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our stay was only brief, but included a "Hole in the Rock" boat trip which was an early start, no problem, breakfast (which was very varied offering literally anything you would be likely to want, & absolutely delicious!) was served early & we were able to leave the car there & take the lovely little path down to the departure point (about 10 minutes downhill, a bit more on the way back up! Be warned, it does involve steep steps). Although perched up on the hill the local town was still easily accessible They were always on hand to answer any queries & offer local advice The property is beautiful with stunning views out across the bay, a wonderful location, could be as warm & cosy or cool & breezy as you wanted Heinz runs an EV, so I would imagine could help out with charging if you're also running an electric car.

It is on a quiet and very green hilltop with a fantastic view on the bay. Close to the town center, in walking distance. (If you don't mind climbing back up the hill :) The place is roomy, very well organized, spotless, with perfect attention to practical details. For example there is a charger with power socket and USB ports right on the night table. The shower is the best in the country, too. Heinz and Brita couldn't be nicer and more helpful.

Lovely location, beautiful views, excellent breakfast supplied by the perfect hosts. Would recommend this hotel to anyone stopping in Paihia. Walking distance from town and all amenities. Recommend a flight over the bay of islands, pick up direct from hotel.
