Property is bang at the main market. This is an advantage. The view from the hotel is awesome. All the staff are courteous and pamper you. This is core for any hospitality industry. The rooms are nice and have a great view. Different categories. I got an upgrade and it was simply great. Food was nice. I opted for breakfast and dinner. When it is cold, it is good to eat dinner in the restaurant. There is a high tea in the evening ***** with snacks and kashmir special. The ambience of the hi tea lounge is simply awesome. Overall a great experience and i strongly recommend this hotel. No hotel is perfect and you may have some teething issues. The key is that they are resolved. This hotel at one time was frequently visited by the bollywood biggies. It is an old hotel and some may find it different.

The property is pretty old with fairly good maintenance. Room size was very average and with very average Decor. There was a centralised heater in the room but not in the bathroom. The best part of the room was its Wide window, overlooking beautiful valley,huge mountains and river flowing by the side. The garden area was not very well maintained, but again view from the garden was amazing. Property is located in the prime market area, with lots of eateries & restaurants all around. There are small shops selling Local Kashmiri goods and one can take a long walk around this place with mountains at 360 degrees view. Rooms from 08 to 11 are best ( view wise). Breakfast spread was very average and taste of food was of OK type. In my opinion one can always stay at this property because of its location & view.

The hotel is well placed, away from the hustle-bustle of the bazaar. It's calm and the rooms are maintained fairly well. The room that we got was quite spacious. The restaurant served very good food and the variety was also impressive. The staff were quick and responsive (though they expect a tip). My recommendation would be to ask for a room on the higher floors. We got a room on the ground floor and so there was no great view. Also, our room was adjacent to their kitchen and so we had to deal with lot of noise from the kitchen. The hotel helped us get union cabs for local sightseeing and you can hire pony right at the entrance of the hotel.

The staff is warm and considerate, food is awesome and since this resort is located right next to the forest reserve area, i wish these guys would use more environment friendly items i. E. Avoid plastic toothbrushes, combs, water bottles etc.
