First, I have to say that the location was beautiful!!! We have stayed here before. However the room was in very bad shape although it was clean. The heater did not work and we had to get a small portable from the office. Then, we were using the microwave and the power went out for the tv, fridge, and there was no other place to plug in the heater. The tv was fuzzy and had poor quality. I did receive a 10% discount for the inconvenience. If you are only concerned with location then this hotel is great. If you want more comfort from your room then I recommend another hotel.

Not bad for an older, and I mean older hotel. If your use to a firm mattress this will disappoint.
Its a vacation, right? Rooms have what a traveler needs, microwave, phone ports and restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
Upstair guest have zero respect for anyone but themselves. If your looking for a relatively quiet nights sleep, this is going to disappoint. The staff does what they can to help solve these issues but people will be people. The good thing about the noise though is everyone eventually goes to sleep. Would we stay there again? Yes, but on the top floor.

My wife and i stay here every time that we visit Monterey. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Some rooms could use a bit of a renovation, but that doesn't affect the overall quality of the stay

The stay was nice. Absolutely loved the view from the balcony. Though the beds were not the most comfortable … it was still an enjoyable stay. I will definitely book again in the future !
