The hotel's self-service breakfast provides diverse options. Its central location allows easy access to shops, museums, and major sights, as well as proximity to public transportation and key attractions like Christ Church.

Not recommended for girls, but boys may not mind. Other hotels suddenly increase their prices during the holidays. This hotel is in a good location next to the museum, but there is no front desk and the entrance is by password. The front desk is at the entrance of a game console store and you have to walk into a small alley, which is not very good. There is a skylight.

Not a good start, as no code sent before I arrived, no staff on premises and phone not answered (explanation: new management just taken over). Good points: clean and comfortable albeit small bedroom. Same for the shower room. Central location. Poor points: scruffy entrance, no staff. Expensive for what it offers.

My partner booked us a room at the Museum Hotel, Oxford for a Saturday night and to say we were both disappointed would be an understatement. The room was a little grotty with dirty carpets and just a general 'uncared for' feeling and the bathroom, while having a nice enough shower could have done with a deep clean. The grouting was dirty and old. There was also no spare toilet roll which for one night isn't too much of an issue, but you might feel inclined to limit your bathroom activity if you were staying there for any longer. The air conditioning in the room didn't work correctly and insisted on pushing out warm air when we were trying to cool the room (it was very warm in the room despite being the middle of October). The advertised snacks "available 24 hours a day" failed to materialise at all. There was a packet of 'crab sticks' in the bottom of the fridge at the back, but as vegetarians, that wasn't an option of us and I think we might have been tempting fate if we were to try them, especially given the lack of supplies in the room mentioned above. When my partner booked the room in March 2024, the room was advertised with a complimentary, continental breakfast. We now understand that the hotel has changed hands since our booking was made and the offering has also changed as a result. The breakfast has now been removed from all listings and is not offered, but we feel that at the price paid, the new owners/managers could have at least made us aware of the change in the booking details and refunded a portion of the fee to reflect the reduction in service we were to receive. It would also have been useful to know that the room we booked was almost directly above a very busy taxi company. This meant there was a queue of people waiting for a taxi directly below our window for pretty much the entire night. There was a card in the room to ask us to be tolerant of the design choice of retaining period features over incorporating sound-proofing. But, again, advanced information would have made for a better, more informed booking choice. We certainly would have appreciated that information after being woken up on an almost hourly basis by Oxford's revellers throughout the night. Finally, the original information my partner received when booking was that the access codes would be provided within 72 hours of arrival. When we had received nothing less than 24 hours before arrival, we phoned the hotel to enquire when we'd receive the codes and were promptly sent a checking in form for ANOTHER GUEST. This revealed their full name and contact information as well as the price they paid for their room. This was extremely worrying in terms of personal data privacy. All in all, I would suggest you look elsewhere for your stay in Oxford. This option is on the cheaper side for a reason and it really wasn't that cheap. It is in a convenient location (taxi company aside) but that doesn't make up for the dreadful customer service (pre-stay) and the gener

I read a number of review and i dont agree with the low scores, if you want an all singing and dancing hotel, with receptionist, restaurants and bars then this is not the hotel for you. The room was a small double, but totally ample for our requirements, it was very clean and a very comfortable bed. Seeing as we were in the centre of Oxford there was no noise and we had a great nights sleep. Yes, the entrance is not glamourous, but i would not hesitate to sat there again. Thank You!

This Hotel, and I say hotel in the broadest sense of the word, has got to be one of the worst and most expensive I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. Not only that but on attempting to communicate with the hotel, I have been completely ignored and after three separate emails over a period of 4 weeks to try and engage with the property, I haven't even received an acknowledgement. The property is: Expensive, dingy, unsecure, dirty, unmanaged, noisy. Entry is by a code sent by text on the day of arrival. No-one is contactable to help with any issues. The room was like a prison cell, with only light from a dirty velux window in the roof. Laundry filthy, carpet stained, bathroom with mould and let's not go in to the lack of maintenance. The room was extremely basic, no terrestrial TV channels, no floor space and even the complimentary tea tray had no tea! If I could, I would have moved elsewhere. The only positive was that the complimentary, continental breakfast, that was all ambient, bought in produce, was a nice touch, (hence the rating of 2 and not 1) Oxford is a beautiful city with many grand and historic buildings, colleges and museums. Don't spoil your time in the city or waste your money in this establishment. Avoid this place at all cost!

To accentuate the positive: this place is centrally located and has air-con. Full-stop. It’s not a hotel: there’s no reception so best suited to people who actively dislike human contact. Our room – no. 10 – is above a betting shop, accessed via a hard-to-locate front door with keypad. Getting up to the room included navigating a narrow metal spiral staircase – thank goodness we only had cabin bags! (There’s no lift or anyone who could help.) The room itself looked OK, but with a window opening on to a roofscape that includes a very noisy commercial extractor fan, a bad night’s ‘sleep’ was practically guaranteed. I have asthma, triggered by house-dust mite, and, you guessed it, we had to beat a speedy retreat at 1:00am to another hotel when my lung condition started to kick in. Over £200 for a night (or in our case, two hours)? The owners (wherever they may be on this or another planet) are having a laugh. I wish I had the breath to laugh too.

Central location was much appreciated and not easy in Oxford. Vey unprocessing entrance easy to miss down a strange dingy side street and we had to ask lots of people. Key pad worked ok. Stairs upto rooms would be difficult for more frail. Shame to have no. human reception, we had a small double which was very small but find enough for just going to bed- but maybe the smallest room we’ve ever stayed in, bed comfortable though and good shower with large towels. Limited floor space to place suitcase. Room WiFi good but no mobile reception. Obviously money spent refurbishing on old historical building. £200:night without breakfast is sadly is what you need to pay in central Oxford. Much better value in one of the many B&B’s shirt bus ride in Headington. In fairness it’s not a hotel but s very expensive AurBnb! Look fine for one night stay if you don’t Need to ge in the room much.

My partner and I stayed here for the rich history of the building - the room came with information about the building and parts to look out for which was very interesting. The room had a non-contact check in and felt so private, we didn’t hear anyone else the whole time we were here including road noises. The bed was clean and comfy and had skylights and a tv. We were even given biscuits and breakfast bars with our room, couldn’t fault the hotel and I loved seeing the old spiral staircase and original fireplaces.
