I’ve stayed at many hotels and B&B through work which have been sub par to say the least. However this hotel is amazing. Great staff very welcoming, food is fantastic and very well priced to cater for all. Hospitality if I had to rate from 1 to 10 is a 10. Owner Michael actually cares about his visitors and ensures that all your requirements are met and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction in all areas. His Team are very polite and professional and have no hesitation to go above and beyond and with the backing of such a great team behind him this pub/Hotel/Restaurant is reaching great heights. Food: all freshly cooked from scratch not like most places I’ve stayed at and I would go as far to say that I actually doubt he even has a microwave in the kitchen and wouldn’t allow one as he prides himself and his chefs with serving nothing but the best local sourced produced fresh with nothing being cooked and reheated like many places do. 10/10 for food quality. Accommodation: fresh looking, very clean, Great showers and facilities. Beds are really comfy and actually managed to sleep the whole night without waking up to either noise or poor quality of beds. 10/10 Ample parking for all guests. I have now instructed my office that when I’m in the Southampton area that I’m booked into this location for my stays and I’m looking forward to coming back again and again. You will NOT be disappointed with your stay here, THAT I can assure you. Overall for me 10/10 Would highly recommend this place to anyone either for a one night stay or multiple night stay. K. Stayed here as I was working at Paultons for a couple of days. Decide to take the wife and dog with me for a break. Was welcomed warmly by Michael and was looked after incredibly well by his team. The food and service was excellent and overall value for money. The place itself was dated and in need of some TLC, which Michael acknowledged while he showed us to our room on arrival. As he has only just taken over the management the decor issues are from from his doing, there is a base of a great venue with a great team with a bit of investment I think it will be a fantastic place to visit. Good luck Michael and the team.

We had dinner here on a weekday evening. Plenty of guests were in the very comfortable restaurant but only one member of staff was on duty who was showing people to their tables, fetching drinks from the bar and serving food., all very efficiently. Between us we had burgers, lasagne and fish & chips. Everything was dry and not at all flavoursome. The bill for 6 of us with drinks (both soft drinks and alcohol) came to about £200. It's under new management but I've heard that it used to be a great restaurant back in the day but our meal was very overall very disappointing. The building is lovely though and has plenty of parking. Would go back for a drink but not for food.

turned up to find notice on door that they refuse to accept cs so 6 of us plannong on eating their had to go elswehere to eat as we do not do cards. Mins you o looking at their prices glad we did not -even alcohol was very expensive[. Also allow dogs inside the pub so even that is a put off, no unhygenic animals should be anywhere near food

I booked as away for work, I highly recommend, food I had was so good-along with the usual pub grub which tends to sit heavy on me after a busy day, I thoroughly enjoyed a main of sea bass on a prawn risotto, lovely cosy functional room, good sleep, lovely breakfast and the staff are amazing, reason for a score of 4 and not 5/5 was purely for some of the configuration of the room and the power points, old building which I appreciate and it did not ruin my stay , I can’t wait to stay again

Do not recommend this hotel at all. Advertised as family/event hotel as quoted a number of times from management 🙄located next to pepper pig world , this really needs to be reconsidered....... Stay cut short due to a wedding in hotel, poor organisation, our room was vibrating, located right next to wedding . Management was absolutely rude, dismissed request for a refund due to t &c's and showed absolute no empathy for our family and our daughters birthday cut short. Over all ..... Over priced and NOT FAMILY HOTEL..... Management to be reconsidered or possible further customer care training .

One night stay for a family of 3. Two adults and 6 year old. We chose the hotel with it being in such close proximity to Paulton’s Park. I have to say it was fine but definitely not worth the price. On arrival they had to check our room was ready, despite us not arriving until almost 6pm! We asked for a table in the restaurant for about 7/7.30pm and were told they were fully booked and couldn’t seat us. However, when I booked the room and asked if I should book a table in the restaurant I was told “you should be fine”. So we ended up being seated in the bar. The food was ok. We all shared a starter of nachos. My husband had a burger, I had a roast and my daughter had the chicken goujons and a drink each and it was just shy of £90! A very expensive pub meal. The room wasn’t cleaned properly. Someone had left false eyelashes stuck to the window sill. The room was tired and in need of a fresh coat of paint. The grout in the bathroom was discoloured. The door handles needed tightening as they were all loose. We were charged £25 for them to set up the sofa bed that was already in the room. I have never been charged for a small child and we go away often. The entrance to the shower was absolutely tiny. Even my 6 year old had to turn sideways to get in. No way would a pregnant woman be able to get in there! The breakfast was very nice. Husband and I had a full English and they kindly accommodated my daughter. All she wanted was sausages and hash browns. I did want the eggs Benedict but was informed on arrival there was no hollandaise sauce or smoked salmon. The room alone cost £146 and it was definitely not value for money and I wouldn’t stay again. But it is so close to Paulton’s Park so that is a major plus. It’s a 2 minute drive and even walking distance.

On our arrival the lady behind the bar was very welcoming and informative showing us to our room and describing the dining arrangements etc. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and the food was very good. On returning to our room there was a constant rumbling noice coming from the boiler in the next room which made it necessary for us to have to change rooms. On evening 2 we had booked in to the restaurant for our evening meal to be informed that the restaurant was being used for aprivate function and we would have to eat in the public bar. The private function only used 1 of the restaurant rooms and we therefore could have dined away from the public bar. The place is in need of some attention the bar area requires refurbishment and the furniture is old and grubby. We won't be visiting again until the refurbishment is carried out.
