We had a great stay at Believe Cottage. It was the middle of winter so the temperatures were rather chilly but the cottage was well equipped with heaters and electric blankets on the beds so we managed to stay warm and toasty. The cherry on top for my kids was the rather cute, fairly tame meerkat called Phylis that made himself quite at home and gave us lots of laughs 😝 The location to the Cango Caves and other exciting outings was excellent!

We had asuch a lovely stay! Arriving we had a struggle booking in as the power was out and there was nog signal however, we were welcomed and assisted by the groundskeeper with all the things we needed. The unit was clean and neat - perfect for the rainy weather, so we had no problem entertaining ourselves inside as there was enough space. The electric blankets was a welcome sight in the cold front but we can't wait to go back again to enjoy more of the river and outside activities as well!

We had the most magical two-night stay in the “Lovers Nest” at Cango Retreat Ou Tol – and it truly lived up to its name. Nestled right by the river, with the sound of flowing water and the rain tapping on the roof, we cozied up by the crackling fireplace each night – absolute heaven! It was the perfect mix of rustic charm and comfort, and even our two little boys were completely enchanted. The cherry on top was that the owner is a long-lost primary school friend I hadn’t seen in over 15 years – such a special and full-circle moment. You can feel the love and care that’s been poured into this place. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape that feels like paradise on earth, look no further than Cango Retreat Ou Tol. We’ll definitely be back!

Great place for families to relax and unwind with all self catering units facing the river. Lots of activities including fishing, free use of kayaks and tubes and a short hike. 7km away from Cango Caves and approximately 15 minute drive to Oudtshoorn town. Pros: Accommodation was clean and had all required amenities. All accommodation either had private hot bath or pool and private braai facilities Garden was peaceful and well maintained. Water on the river was sparkling clean and we saw some fish. Friendly dogs, meerkat and lots of birds including a peacock and parrots. Cons: No Cell phone reception in the area and WiFi can only be used for WhatsApp in your cabin. Unable to watch Netflix on TV. Unit 4, Peace cabin, needs some extra care and an overall facelift. Also, microwave not within easy reach, couch and air fryer needs to be replaced. Tips: Pack in your own hairdryer Download Netflix or Showmax series on your devices Overall loved our stay and would most certainly return but at a different unit.

Beautiful serene setting to unwind and relax. Love the green grass and river right in front of the cottage to relax in. Lots of animals that visit and keep you company. Owners are very welcoming and friendly. We've been 3 times now and will hopefully visit again soon. Plenty of activities close by to explore.

I don't think many people in oudtshoorn knows about Cango Retreat,but I highly recommend it.Service was great,never a dull moment because there is more than enough to keep you busy and explore.This was my first time but definitely not the last.
