The best accormodation l have ever had in a while. It’s so beautiful and charming. Laura and staff were so nice, always helpful and willing to go an extra mile. The place is so convenient, close to cango caves, cango wildlife and oudtshoorn town. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone… *Luke*

A beautiful setting in the country, The farm was not busy , Pity the guide was on leave so we were not given the chance to do a farm tour. There was a mix up with our room and we had to move to another room only after we had unpacked. The breakfast was the normal hotel breakfast , Not bad. We only stayed one night. To get the full experience of the farm one needs to stay at least 2 nights

We went for a recharge and we got one. We asked for a dog friendly place and we got one. Very friendly welcome and departure. Lovely place very clean and quiet. Thank you for your excellent hosting. We will recommend and hopefully have the opportunity to return.

A nice and silent stay at one of the farm cottages close to the Cango caves. Not only the ostriches (big birds for food lovers), also owls for bird lovers enricht the stay. The food was good, the staff excellent. Good not only for an overnight stay but also for a longer stay, to explore the sourrounding attractions and nature. Only the lukewarm geyser prevented to give 100%.

A wonderful location for families, so much space, excellent service and friendly staff. Will book tours for you too. Ostriches on-site were a bonus as well as eating them at the evening meal! Our son left his book there and they kindly sent on to our next location. Highly recommended.

The Schoeman family has owned the land between Oudtshoorn & Cango Caves for 8 or 9 generations! Owner Piet is now the largest ostrich farmer in South Africa - with up to 25,000 own ostriches. His German-speaking wife Laura has lovingly renovated the Berluda Farmhouse & Mountain Manor in country house style - an oasis of peace. Mountain Manor was wonderful! Esp. for stressed city dwellers - including a mind-change in no time at all. Here, work is far away. Especially recommended for families: the unusual meerkat tour in an open car! Safari feeling! Also: the tour to the ostriches. And 5 pools invites you to swim or cool down. For wine lovers, the Karusa winery - just 1000 meters away - has some surprisingly fine wines to offer. Insider tip: the restaurant "De Kombuys" - fine Wagyu beef & wonderful Chardonnay (a bit too expensive, I think). In short: Two days at Berluda are a must, longer is of course always possible

Unfortunately we stayed only for one night, but there is so much more to see ... the staff was very friendly and we had a unique tour on the austriche farm with our guide Jaco vanWyk . He made a great tour for us and our childrens. They liked it very much ... . After taking a great breakfast next mornung, we had to leave, but will come again for sure !! Thank you all !

We had rented a cottage for one night. The cottage was spacious and clean but I felt it was dated. You are out in the sticks being well away from shops and facilities so plan ahead. The breakfast was really good and we decided to do the ostrich farm tour with Jakob. We found it brilliant seeing the process of ostrich farming from egg to a full grown adult , my wife loved holding one of the newly born chicks-a great experience.
